Hot take: a little stress is okay!
Dill had quite a big day we went around downtown Kent during family week at Kent state. This was his first time walking on the floor around Kent I noticed some stress panting and we played some pattern games and just sat and people watched he relaxed. But he wasn’t as confident walking around so I brought his sling as back up and opted to use it. He settled down in his sling almost took a nap at one point and he preferred that much better. As handlers it’s our job to notice these things and help them regulate themselves. We had an adventurous day and he did super!

Dill is headed right into his adolescence phase and socializing doesn’t stop. This biggest thing for Dill and most dogs is short positive trips. This week we tackled a new pet store and lots of kids.

A puppy's critical socialization period is 12-14 weeks, but puppies aren't fully vaccinated.
What do you do?
🩵use strollers or carrier bags to keep your dog off the ground from possible germ exposure
🩵disinfect your hands frequently and have people saying hi also disinfectant their hands
🩵keep up on your pups booster vaccines
🩵play dates with other dogs you trust and know are up to date on vaccinations
🩵control your environment as much as possible
🩵stick to low pet traffic areas
🩵know the signs of illness
The biggest thing to consider is the risks of getting sick vs the risk of lifelong behavioral problems. It’s scary and intimidating but take it slow, use precautions, and advocate for your dogs best interests.

Our first client Millie!
Millie is blind in her left eye and completely deaf. Millie lives on a farm and had a pretty active life with her owners from horse trails to hikes Millie does it all. Because she's deaf she wanted to solidify a recall with a vibrate collar only. Millie has had previous training but it's been awhile she's picking up very quickly what the collar vibrations mean. She also has her sights on CGC!

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity are very important to my business. My very existence is political. I am a trans-nonbinary disabled person in a space that isn’t normally accessible. What does this mean for my clients? I ask that you use my pronouns, they/them, and be understanding of my disabilities. This may look like meeting at a pet-friendly accessible place so that I can use my wheelchair, or I may bring my crutch or cane, or you may not even be able to see the aids I’m using. I want you to understand that even though I might not “look capable,” I am very capable of training your dog! My disabilities vary from day to day. Most people are understanding and curious, but I ask that you respect my privacy. I will let you know what you need to know about me. I’ve been in the dog industry professionally for 5 years now and will continue my education. At the end of the day, I want what’s best for you and your dog.🩵
