Checks bank account.
Looks at dogs.
Looks back at account.

"Where did all your money go?"
"Them." 🖤🐾

Between the premium food, the vet checks, the custom training gear, the dog sport equipment, the show entries, the endless toys that last approximately 47 seconds, and—let's be honest—the third dog bed because the first two weren't quite right?

Yeah. Being a dog mom (slash dog trainer) is expensive.

But here's the thing I tell every client in Seattle, Kent, Maple Valley, and beyond: Training is an investment in your relationship. In your sanity. In their freedom and safety. In waking up and actually enjoying your dog instead of managing them.

So yes, my dogs have drained my wallet and filled my heart. Zero regrets.

Let me be clear about something. 🛑

People see a prong collar or an e-collar on one of my dogs (or client dogs) and suddenly I'm "abusing" them.

That's bu****it.

Here's what they don't see: Arcana launching herself into obedience because she knows the ecollar stim is part of the reward sequence. Grimm working for a decade by my side, healthy and happy despite the fact that he started his story horrifically reactive. Kola choosing engagement with me over aggression every single day. And countless client dogs learning that the world isn't so scary with a stable partner in their lives.

Most of what I do is positive. Treats. Toys. Praise. Play. I love rewarding a good choice.

But ignoring the other three quadrants of learning? Pretending corrections don't exist in nature, in social behavior, or in effective training? That's not kindness. That's ideology over results, and I'm NOT about it.

And more importantly—ignoring the dog in front of you is bu****it.

Some dogs need clear boundaries. Some dogs need pressure and release to understand. Some dogs find treats meaningless but praise and a leash pop changes everything. Your dog doesn't care about your training philosophy. Your dog cares about clarity, safety, and feeling understood.

I use tools because I owe my dogs honest communication. Not because I'm angry. Not because I'm lazy. Because clarity creates confidence, and confidence creates happy dogs.

Come watch my dogs work. Then tell me they're abused.

Stay cool, stay cool, stay cool. 🛑

In this video, my client dog (minding his business and trying to focus during a training walk) is being followed by an off-leash dog whose owner is calling after him in...entirelu in vain. No recall. No control. No accountability.

Here's the hard truth: If your dog cannot be trusted under solid voice control, they should not be off-leash in public. Not because your dog is "bad"—but because it's dangerous for everyone involved. Your dog could run into traffic. Approach a reactive or aggressive dog. Get lost. Freak out someone with a fear of dogs. Or simply create a stressful situation like this one.

I get it. Off-leash freedom is a beautiful goal. Watching your dog run, explore, and exist with full confidence? That's the dream.

But it has to be earned.

When we build rock-solid recall, impulse control, and neutrality, off-leash work becomes safe—not a gamble. My clients don't end up chasing their dogs down the street. They don't have to pray their dog listens when it matters most.

If off-leash reliability is your goal, I'm your person. Whether we're working in Seattle, Kent, Maple Valley, Renton, Auburn, or Covington, I'll help you build the control that gives you real freedom.

The many 👁️👁️ faces of Creole, new daycare training dog at Black Magic Dog Training!

This handsome man is a German Shepherd/Catahoula Leopard Dog mix, and he's joining us three days a week to work on building confidence in a big world.

His goals:
• Desensitization to new sights and sounds
• Reducing reactivity to unfamiliar people
• General obedience and impulse control

We'll be tackling all of this through my Day Training program—and here's why this model works so beautifully for dogs and owners alike across Seattle, Kent, Maple Valley, and the surrounding areas:

✨ Convenience: Drop off on your way to work, pick him up after. Zero disruption to your daily schedule. Located in West Kent at the crossroads of Tukwila, Seatac, and Des Moines.

💰 Affordability: All the professional training expertise without the premium price tag of overnight boarding.

🤝 Owner Involvement: You're not left out of the loop! Micro lessons at pickup to absorb information in digestible chunks. Regular updates and owner sessions mean YOU learn alongside your dog. No mystery training—just partnership.

😌 Lower Stress: Your dog sleeps in their own bed every night. No kennel anxiety, no separation from family, just consistent skill-building during the day and quality bonding time at home.

Day Training bridges the gap between "I need help" and "I can't commit to a Board & Train." It's real-world training for real-world lives.

Is your dog in Renton, Auburn, Covington, or beyond ready for this balanced approach?

This is what makes me happy. 🖤

Watching Arcana, my 4-month old (more like 3 months in this video) Xolo puppy, discover the joy of using her brain and body at schutzhund club.

Yes, you read that right—a hairless primitive breed learning IGP foundations. Why? Because every dog, regardless of breed, deserves the chance to shine doing something they love. Arcana lights up when we work. That drive, that focus, that wagging tail? That's what I chase.

I train dogs because I love watching them come alive.

Whether it's:

· A Rottweiler mastering obedience in Renton
· A rescued Bully mix building confidence in Kent
· A service dog prospect learning neutrality in Seattle
· Or my own Xolo puppy tackling bite work because she thinks it's the best game ever

Every dog has brilliance inside them. My job? Help you bring it out.

This philosophy drives everything—from my daycare training programs to private lessons across Maple Valley, Auburn, and Covington. Your dog wants to succeed. Let's show them how.

Peekaboo! 🖤👀

This adorable face belongs to my newest Black Magic client buddy, and yes—I'm already sneaking in little training moments during our strolls through the neighborhood.

Did you know Rotties are one of the most loyal, confident, and deeply family-oriented breeds? They're also powerful, smart, and absolutely thrive with clear boundaries and fair, consistent handling. A puppy like this? The potential is endless with the right start.

Whether you're in Seattle, Kent, Maple Valley, or anywhere in South King County, Black Magic Dog Training works with all dogs, big and small. From tiny Chihuahuas to powerful Rottweilers, from confident adolescents to shy seniors—every dog deserves training tailored to their unique needs.

This little guy is already learning leash manners, neutrality around distractions, and that humans are the best part of any walk. Puppyhood flies by—let's make every moment count.

It started with one. And honestly? I never looked back. 🖤

Meet Kola, my first Xoloitzcuintli and the dog who sparked a full-blown obsession with primitive breeds. There's something magical about sharing life with a dog whose lineage traces back thousands of years—ancient, dignified, and deeply connected to their humans.

Xolos aren't for everyone. They're Velcro dogs. They're intuitive. They have opinions. They're bald, spotted, "stubborn", and absolutely captivating.

But for those who get it? You really get it.

Kola opened my eyes to what's possible when you work with a dog's nature instead of against it. His sensitivity requires finesse. His loyalty requires reciprocation.

Now, with Arcana joining the team and my work serving clients across Seattle, Kent, Maple Valley, and beyond, I'm doubling down on this incredible breed. Whether you're a fellow primitive breed enthusiast or just Xolo-curious, I see you.

Falling in love with a primitive breed? Start with the foundation. My "Black Magic House Training" ebook works beautifully for Xolos, Peruvian Orchids, Basenjis, Shibas, and any independent-minded ancient breed.

Meet my first heart-dog and the reason I do this work: Grimm. 💫 For nearly a decade, this incredible dog has been my constant partner, including in his public service role. This photo at Angle Lake Station captures more than a moment; it captures a journey.

Grimm is a self-trained service dog. Every ounce of his impeccable public access manners, his focused task work, and his LEARNED stability came from dedicated, daily training. He is living proof that with the right guidance, the right dog can become an extraordinary partner.

This firsthand experience is why I’m so passionate about my Self-Trained Service Dog Guidance Program. I don't train your dog for you; I train YOU to train YOUR dog. I equip owners across Seattle, Kent, Renton, and the South Sound with the knowledge, protocols, and problem-solving skills to bring out the absolute best in their service dog prospect.

We focus on building that essential foundation: rock-solid obedience, intense public access neutrality (like Grimm displays here amidst transit chaos), and reliable task training. It's a challenging path, but you don't have to walk it alone.

Your prospect has that potential. Let me help you unlock it.

Confidence isn't just built—it's climbed. 🪜 At just 10 weeks old, Arcana is already mastering more than just house training. (Shout out to my "Black Magic House Training" method for that foundation! Link in bio.)

This ladder and slide adventure at the park wasn't just for cute photos. It was a calculated confidence-building session. By guiding her with food and encouragement, I helped her navigate strange textures, heights, and movement. Each step teaches her that new, weird challenges are fun and rewarding with her human by her side.

This early investment in resilience and trust is what creates a stable, adaptable adult dog. It’s the same principle behind all my training in Seattle, Kent, Maple Valley, and beyond: we build a dog's courage to handle the world, so reactivity and fear don't become default settings.

Whether your puppy in Renton, Auburn, or Covington is tackling their first slide or their first stairway, these positive experiences are priceless. What strange, fun challenges are you exploring with your pup this week?
