🖤 Meet Promise — Looking for a Place to Call Home 🖤

Some horses aren't looking for their next adventure in the saddle. They're looking for a safe place to land, a pasture to graze, a friend to stand beside, and a person to love them for exactly who they are. Promise deserves just that. ❤️

Promise is a 17-year-old black tobiano mare with a heart as sweet as they come. She has a gentle, affectionate personality and absolutely loves attention. Within the herd, she tends to sit in the middle to lower end of the pecking order, making her a quieter presence among her pasture mates.

Promise suffered a pelvic fracture when she was just two years old. Because of her history, she is not being offered as a sound riding horse. She is looking for a pasture or companion home where her needs can be prioritized and she can enjoy the rest of her life without the expectations of a working horse.

Her owner is making the difficult decision to reduce her herd because time no longer allows her to provide every horse with the level of attention and care she feels they deserve. This decision comes from wanting better opportunities for her horses, and Promise is no exception.

Promise does have an asking price. This is intentional, as her owner wants to help ensure she finds a responsible, appropriate home rather than someone looking to acquire her for the wrong reasons.

What we're hoping to find is someone who sees Promise's value beyond what she can do under saddle. Someone who wants a pasture companion, a sweet face to greet them at the gate, and a loving mare to spoil simply because she deserves it.

She doesn't need a job. She doesn't need to prove herself. She just needs a person who will give her the comfort, companionship, and quality of life she deserves. 🖤

Every horse deserves their person, and we're hoping to find Promise hers.

If you have a safe, loving pasture or companion home and room in your heart for a mare like Promise, please reach out for more information.

🏡 The right home will always matter more than a quick sale.

✨ Meet Freckles — A Beautiful Mare Looking for Her Person! ✨

Freckles is a lovely 20–22-year-old Appaloosa/Arabian mare standing approximately 14 hands tall. She is a broke, reliable, beautifully trained mare with plenty of personality and a whole lot to offer the right person. ❤️

Freckles is an intelligent mare who knows her job, and she likes to know that her rider knows theirs, too! She is very much a mare with opinions and sits comfortably at the top of the herd pecking order. She may test her rider and ask questions along the way, so she would be best suited for an advanced beginner with appropriate support or an intermediate rider who is confident, consistent, and comfortable working with a horse who has a mind of her own.

Her training is one of her greatest assets. Freckles has a lovely foundation and understands:
🐴 Neck reining
🐴 Leg and seat cues
🐴 Side-passing
🐴 Haunch and forehand turns under saddle
🐴 Showmanship
🐴 Solid groundwork

She is also a dependable trail partner. When she encounters something unfamiliar, she tends to be a look first, ask questions, and wait for guidance kind of horse rather than one who bolts or dramatically spooks. She appreciates a rider who can provide calm, clear direction.

One of the wonderful things about Freckles is her ability to return to work after time off. She can go months without being ridden and step back into a routine without needing to start from scratch. She is an incredibly smart mare with some of the most gorgeous movement you'll see!

Why is she for sale?

This is a genuinely difficult decision for her owner. With multiple horses to care for and limited time to work them all, her owner wants to make sure Freckles has the opportunity to find someone who can give her the time, attention, and partnership she deserves.

I genuinely believe Freckles could make a wonderful 4-H or OHSET prospect for the right rider. With her existing training, beautiful movement, and intelligent nature, she has so much to offer someone looking to build a partnership with a seasoned mare.

Freckles isn't looking for just anyone, and she isn't being offered because she has nothing left to give. She's looking for her person — someone who appreciates a smart, opinionated mare, values the foundation she already has, and wants to continue building on it.

At 20–22, she still has plenty of personality and potential to share with the right home. ❤️

If you think Freckles might be the mare you've been looking for, please reach out for more information!

🏡 The goal is the right home, not simply the next home.

Sometimes, the hardest part of my job isn't the trim itself. It's helping a horse recover from the consequences of inconsistent care. ❤️🐴

Since opening my services in this area, I've heard this story far too many times. Owners have been let down by farriers who haven't been consistent, and unfortunately, the horses are the ones who pay the price.

Now, I want to be clear: not all farriers in this area are like this! We have some wonderful farriers doing great work. It makes me sad that the inconsistency of a few can affect the trust owners have in the profession as a whole. 😕

When I took this mare on, we had quite a few challenges to work through. Her discomfort and behavioral struggles were apparent during our very first session. Thankfully, she has an owner who is committed to giving her the care, time, and support she needs to improve.

I wish I had photos from the very first day, but I'm usually so focused on getting started and providing these horses with as much immediate relief as I safely can that taking pictures slips my mind!

The photos below are from our last session, and I'm so excited to continue watching this mare progress. ❤️

I didn't go in and aggressively change everything about her feet in one session. We took things slowly, allowing her body time to adjust to the new angles and the relief that comes with them. Good hoof care isn't about how much you can take off in one visit. It's about making thoughtful changes that prioritize the horse's comfort and long-term soundness.

And my favorite update? Her owner has been telling me how spicy her mare has become again now that she's feeling more comfortable. Apparently, she's feeling good enough to be a menace again. 😂🌶️

Honestly? I'm happy to contribute to that! 🤣❤️

Slow and steady wins the race. I'm here for the progress, the little victories, and the day these horses feel good enough to let their personalities shine again.

P.S I took these photos on gravel and uneven ground. They had just laid fresh gravel.

For those of you who follow this page for Karma updates, she’s doing great! ❤️ I know it’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted.

I’ve been pretty under the weather lately, so most of my energy has been going toward my full-time farrier work. Meanwhile, Karma has been enjoying her well-deserved easy days. 😂

Today, we worked in the round pen for a few minutes before I decided to hop on her ba****ck for her cool-down. Then I thought, let’s see how those easy days have affected that brain of yours! 😂

We opened and closed the arena gate, headed out to the pasture, opened the pasture gate, and made our way all the way to the end of the pasture before I hopped off and let her graze.

All of this was done ba****ck, in a flat halter, and with my new spurs.

Karma has one of the best minds I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Time off hasn’t changed that. The trust, the willingness, and the thoughtfulness she brings to our work are something I’ll never take for granted.

Sometimes, the best reminder of what you have isn't a big training session or a new milestone. It's simply getting on and realizing just how special the horse underneath you really is. 🖤🐴

Tonight I had a tack malfunction! 😅

Karma and I were cruising along at the canter, and I went to ask for the whoa. She wasn't heavy on my hands, but she was still toppling onto her front end, which is something we've been working heavily on.

We backed up using seat and legs, and I happened to look down...

THE BIT WAS NO LONGER ATTACHED ON ONE SIDE. 😳😂

I had absolutely NO idea.

She and I were just vibing along like nothing was wrong. 😂

Safe to say, this mare is apparently tack-malfunction safe. 🤣

We switched bridles and went right back to work as if absolutely nothing had happened.

This mare impresses me more and more every day with her mind. ❤️🐴

I have such a talented best friend whose hobby is photography, and she blessed me with the lovely opportunity to have a photoshoot with her. 🥰📸

I didn't dress fancy or really spruce up my tack. 😅 I slightly regret that choice now. 🤣 But honestly, I am SO, SO happy with my photos and how they turned out.

She has such a good eye! ❤️

I know Karma and I didn't make it easy for her. 🤣 Karma decided that stopping HARD was going to be her special contribution to the photoshoot. 😒😂

But somehow, my bestie managed to work with us and capture some absolutely beautiful moments. I couldn't be happier with how the photos turned out. 🥰🐴❤️

Definitely makes me want to spruce things up a little more next time! 😂
