This page was set up to tell the story of Alec,'s disease and what we went through trying to save his life!
It is not a public page.

It never gets easier to think about what Alec went through. He was that one very special boy.
Hopefully, his story will save any other dogs from going through the illness he suffered.

Even though that it has been years since we sent Alec across the bridge, I miss him just as much as if it happened yesterday. He was that one SPECIAL dog for me. It is still with a heavy heart that I need to repost his story. If it prevents even one other pet {because the disease is usually found in cats} he did his job.

If one dog is helped by Alec's story, then he did his job. Even after all I time, I miss him every day.
He was one in a million.

I wrote our story in the hopes that it would save at least 1 dog from having to go through it as well as educating owners of what can happen when we do not keep our fur kids on prevention medications.

Rereading the comments I wrote about Alec's conditions and treatment have made me miss him even more. Such a heartbreaking waste. You get a pet, have it long enough to neuter, then he gets lost or dumped to survive on his own. When he has a chance for a forever home, he only gets a few years.

It doesn't get easier, I still miss Alec! He was one of a kind! I pray Noone else has to go through that nightmare. I feel for each and everyone who has to face that final decision.

Alec has been gone a year and it doesn't get any easier. Miss him, it is a comfort to have our other 3 boys and Auggie is so much like Alec that it is wonderful having him staying with us.

I have just sent out a bunch of invitations to follow Alec's Page, please accept and read his story if you have pets of your own. I t may just save a life!

It has been almost one year ago that Alec joined our other fur babies across the bridge. He is never far from my thoughts or heart. There will never be another one quite like him. We are blessed to have my best friend and her boy with us, he is a lot like Alec that we always called them "brothers from another mother". He is a joy to have in our home. It is a privilege to be one of his car givers.

11/26/2014

I miss him every day, however we now have a new dog in the pack who we always called Alec's brother from another mother because their personalities were so much alike. We are happy to welcome Auggie and Wendy to our home.

Alec's loss was one of the worst decisions that I ever had to make. I was in the Arabian horse business over 30 years, worked for small animal vet, after all of the animals I lost over the years this was the hardest because we had such a close bond. He could be such a goof ball! Also a very dangerous protector. He will forever be missed.
