Continuing Mana's acclimation trianing we would be remiss if we didn't get him to the beach, hard to believe just a little over one month ago Mana was living feral and terrified of humans see his story on my webpage. Barely 2 weeks of acclimation training and Mana is walking out on leash beautifully, building confidence in himself and trust in humans. Here is a clip of his first crate training session.

Mana was abandoned at around 4mo of age he lived feral for another 8mo near a school where he found shelter, safety and food thanks to a very caring teacher. After months of trying to capture Mana he was finally trapped and caught and received some meical care (July 22). He is being temporarily cared for and in acclimation training to help him accept a new life, one that includes human interation and contact, car rides, and long walks on leash, house manners.

This was said long before anyone had the word "ecosystem," and it's still the most accurate summary of ecology anyone has managed. Pull one strand a pollinator, a predator, a wetland and the tension redistributes across the whole thing. Sometimes it holds. Sometimes it doesn't, and by the time you notice, several other strands have gone with it.

We didn't design this system and we don't understand most of it. Which makes the confidence with which we cut into it genuinely astonishing.

We're a strand. Acting like we're the weaver has always been the mistake.
