And just like that, you’re 1 year old. I never thought a son would make me reflect on my entire life from the moment I had memories as a small child. I thought I was just losing my long term memory, but suddenly you were born and they all came back like a ton of bricks. I remember details from my childhood like it’s a Norman Rockwell painting and what I’ve learned is the most important memories of your life are in the those first 18 years because that’s the baggage you’ll carry with you for the rest of your life. I only hope we make it so fun for you so that when you’re grown up with your own family, you’ll say “Thanks dad, what an incredible childhood you and mom gave me.” I’ll die trying to make sure that happens.
