FabuCats was founded on August 7th, 2021 by Air Elliott of Jesup, GA to promote innovative and humane solutions to the overpopulation crisis of free roaming/abandoned/lost homeless cats in rural Georgia. We are a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN is 88-1453158), registered as a nonprofit organization in the state of Georgia, and licensed by the GA Department of Agriculture as a animal rescue/shelter.

‼️ANOTHER plumbing/water emergency means we are short almost $500 for TODAY’s spay/neuter bill‼️ We have less than TWO HOURS to raise $500 before it is time to pick up the cats who joined the Club today…🙀

Over the past two weeks we’ve raised $749 to meet $2000+ in immediate needs. We are in the pickliest of pickles with ZERO wiggle room for emergencies.

3:30AM bottle feeds—Cubby enthusiastically draining his bottle with MooMoo and Buttons in the back ground clearly impatient for their turns! 😸

Now 5 weeks old, Cubby is THRIVING and ready to start weaning. In a few more weeks he will be ready for a foster-to-adopt, with his adoption being finalized upon his neuter and rabies vaccine. MooMoo and Button, along with two precious litter mates who crashed and, despite our very best efforts, heartbreakingly passed, were brought to us last week with umbilical cords still attached by Long County Animal Control after they were found under a tanker on Fort Stewart with no mama to be found. While MooMoo is latching and nursing like a champ, Buttons began to decline and needs the extra support of tube feeding. It’s not easy (and a leeetle scary), but we’re so grateful to have this life saving skill in our tool box to help Buttons overcome this challenge.

💖🐈💖🐈‍⬛🐈💖🐈‍⬛💖‼️HELP—Please‼️

We shared last week that May has brought extra special challenges, unexpected expenses, and continued funding shortfalls. Yesterday, we planned to post a ‼️$2 Tuesday to Help Raise $2000 2.0‼️, as last week’s $2 Tuesday raised $635–a blessing for which we are grateful, but $1365 short of what is needed to take care of immediate needs and get us through the rest of May—including essential preventatives and last week’s and this week’s spay/neuter appointments. Non-stop phone calls, texts, messages, and stop bys for help began at 7AM and did not end until late, late…oof…so here we are…🙈

$1365 is less than $5 per FabuCat and kitten currently in our care. If just 20% of our followers gave $2 each, we’d have the $1365 still needed, and more!

We know our corner of Georgia has so, so many hurting and in need of help right now especially. We hate to ask, and we don’t want to take away from anyone. But, we can’t help the cats and kittens who need our help without your help and support. If you can give to help the FabuCats and kittens, please give today.

‼️$2 Tuesday to help raise $2,000‼️ May has been quite a MONTH at FabuCats—and it still has 13 more days to terrorize us! 🙀 Twice issues with the well and pump that supplies our water left us scrambling to bring in water. Fearing much worse, we were so relieved when the repair cost came to right at $500. Of course, covering that $500 meant that other essential needs had to be put off. Only 2 of 7 $200 pallets of food have been sponsored or donated towards, which means a $1000 deficit remains, and we’ve received just 1, $25 donation to help cover the $900 in spay/neuter charges so far this month. Yet, the requests for help continue to flood in.

There are immediate needs for which we truly NEED the HELP of our FabuFriends to cover now.

Right now, our ability to help is limited to true emergencies—and we are very near our limit even with those. We began this week with 1 bottle baby. We now have 9 bottle babies. A litter of 4 tuxie babies with umbilical cords still attached was found under a tanker on Fort Stewart and were brought to us by Long County Animal Control when they could not find anyone else to help. On Monday, the white newborns pictured were found scattered across a back porch—the tiniest one nearly 12 hours after the other 3. Now, these 4 tiny, tiny kittens are safe at FabuCats, snuggled in their warm blanket cave. They are eating well, but need all your prayers and positive energy.

If just 1/4 of our followers gave $2 today, we’d easily raise the $2000 needed. Please, if you can give, give what you can TODAY. It will make all the difference.

How many tiny babies did this sweet mama deliver all on her own in the wee hours of Sunday morning??? You might have to zoom in to see for sure…correct answer is in the Comments.💖

She came to us just days ago from Brantley Co., and considering what a pro she’s at labor, delivery, clean up, and nursing, we’re fairly certain this isn’t her first litter. One thing we do know for certain—it’s her last.

Bagheera Bear LOVES the cat wheel like he loves everything—calmly, steadily, deeply. Though he could do this for hours, he always shares when someone else wants a turn. So very laid back and undemanding, never “in your face,” this lovable snuggler is a very old soul in a tiny katten body. We think Bagheera Bear is positively perfect in every way! 💖🐈‍⬛💖 (Even with a speck of lint and a little bit of his breakfast still on his face—purrrfect he is! 😸)

6 months old, neutered, UTD on vaccines, FIV/FELV negative, with flea + other parasite prevention on board, he is ready and waiting to bless the perfect forever home—could that be yours?

With so much need all around us, we so hate to ask for your help, but by maximizing every opportunity to buy good quality food from the rescue food bank—the lowest price available when it’s available—we are able to do so much more with less. This helps us better help not only the FabuCats and kittens of Wayne County, but our friends in rescue and the kitties impacted by the wildfires who need help now and in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

This was a very last minute opportunity, with no time to ask for help beforehand and no time to ask for help since. We pulled funds earmarked for other essentials to make it happen. We were able to bring back 11 pallets—7 for our FabuCats and 4 to help other rescue and sanctuary kitties in our area.

We actually first heard news of the wildfires on our drive to the food bank. We are so grateful that this timely opportunity to buy so much food at such a low cost allowed us to help other rescues and individuals and families evacuating with their cats and kittens meet such an essential need.

🎉💖Photo Dump to brighten your Sunday afternoon!💖🎉

It’s 3AM, Cubby’s just finished his middle of the night bottle and, after more than a week of high alert, go, go, go helping rescue friends and kitties across 3 counties, you’re too WIRED to sleep… No better time for some purrr therapy (the best kind) and an impromptu photo session with the sweetest evacuee kitties from our friends at M&B Farm & Hatchery in Brantley County.

15 special guests are with us at FabuCats while M&B (Mikey and Becky), after evacuating all the precious lives in their care to safety, are busy helping those in their community impacted by the wildfires to find and get needed care for their animals, plus tackle clean up and preparing the farm and sanctuary for the animals to return.

We are so happy to be able to help by providing a safe home away from home for these kitties during this time. Of course, Mikey & Becky made it easy to do so by bringing us kitties as fabulous as our FabuCats! Such gorgeous, healthy cats are a testament to the wonderful level care all the animals at M&B Farm Hatchery receive from Mikey, Becky, and their kids and volunteers!

Him’s a big boy, he is—he only wants the crunchy stuff! 💖

His stressed mama had no milk for him; and; though he is just barely old enough to wean, he refused to drink formula or eat soft food. He was determined to eat dry kitten food only! BUT, his wee lil’ teefs were too small to crunch through the kitten kibble! He most certainly did NOT want any liquid added to it, either—he’d rather starve!

We were starting to fear that he just might! But, of course Mama - Miss Nang knew exactly what to do to help him eat on his own—she smashed that kitten kibble until it was just right!

Phoenix, along with his soft feral little mama, came to us as the lone survivor of a litter of 3 from our friends at South Georgia Equine Rescue. When we reached out to Heather to offer our help, she was so worried about this tiny survivor making it—even in the midst of countless other very BIG worries—and said it would be such a great relief to bring him and his mama to us and know she was giving him the best possible chance. We appreciate her trust in our ability to help the wee ones who struggle most, and we are so very glad to be able to help.

After getting us all excited by immediately chowing down on some RC Mother & Baby Cat wet food, he decided to crash BIGGLY had to be syringe fed every two hours around the clock for several days until he not only stabilized, but began to thrive!

Now, he’s eating on his own and really enjoying the much tastier, smaller and much easier to eat, more nutrient dense Mother & Baby Cat dry food one of our most FABULOUS FabuFriends, Sue Rose, made a special trip to go get and personally deliver for him.

We know during difficult times, each of us helping however we can will add up to making a big difference. Anything we can do, we will do to help our rescue friends, any animal, and anyone impacted by the wildfires devastating our region. All of us helping however we can, will ensure that our corner of GA will, like THE Phoenix (and our little Phoenix), rise from the ashes, reborn even more strong! 💖🙏🏼💖
