Big restocking trip! 🐾

Our team leader is on the road to the Greater Good Charities Rescue Foodbank in Macon today to fetch at very low cost a critical shipment of WET cat food (which we’ve been having to buy at retail for more than a month) for our FabuCats and kittens. Supplying daily wet food “GOOOD SOUP!” for all our rescues is a huge effort, and we need your help to cover these costs.

If you can spare a few dollars to help pay for this food run, please consider donating today! If you’re not in a position to donate, sharing this post is completely free and helps us reach people who can.

If you'd rather donate items directly, you can also support us by ordering straight from our wishlists: https://fabucatsincwc.carrd.co/?fbclid=IwVERDUAUFMfxwZG9mAWV4dG4DYWVtAjEwAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkDDM1MDY4NTUzMTcyOAABHjvp27TjHiTVY3Gc9lsa4xOOQ4XZ0SbZdeh2hdOimELRML6f8-Ki_hR0360m_aem_SsezAlAmsgcMncquhsrjLQ

Thank you for helping us keep our rescue running and every tummy full! 🐾❤️

We use Fox Valley Day One Kitten Formula exclusively and we are OUT! It is sold out everywhere and will not be available until next week. It WILL be available next week, so if you do have a bag or bucket we can buy today, you will be able to replenish your stash!

August brought a flood of bottle babies, and we overlooked the fact that we were down to our last bucket of Fox Valley. This formula grows the healthiest, chonkiest babies with the best poops. We ordered another brand of formula in time to mix 50/50 with the rest of our Fox Valley for a few days, but are still dealing with diarrhea. With 7 bottle babies, this is a nightmare situation. We need to get these bottle babies back on Fox Valley as soon as possible.

If you have a bag or bucket we can buy, please Comment below, DM, call (912)559-1232, or email
[email protected].

Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🐈💖🐈

🐈🐈‍⬛‼️WE COULD REALLY USE YOUR HELP TODAY ‼️🐈‍⬛🐈

Just $150 raised of the $2000+ needed to cover our most urgent needs. 2 donations in 7 days, BUT 12 separate requests for help for 63 total cats and kittens SINCE Saturday…including a true emergency before 8:30AM this morning.

Our most URGENT NEEDS:

🚨$470 Power Bill Balance (July’s bill was brutal…)

🚨$720 Spay/Neuter (DUE TODAY)

🚨$375 3 Trays of Vaccines (NEEDED NOW for Kittens)

🚨$282 FIP Medications 30 Days x 2

🚨$300 Antibiotics for URI, Giardia, and Coccidia, Antibiotic Eye Ointment/Drops, and Dewormers

🚨$200 Rescue Cleaner & Disinfectant (safely kills even the viruses most dangerous to cats/kittens, like Coccidia)

🚨 We still need to find a solution to our AC issues, but for now, we’re making it work—the humans caring for them are suffering a little, so the cats don’t have to.

Many of these essentials we can purchase at a discount or wholesale, but funds are needed to purchase those items.

ABOUT the PHOTOS:

Before 8:30AM this morning we received multiple calls and messages about these 3 kittens—clearly from 2 separate litters, who were dumped on the grassy area beside the Food Lion parking lot in Jesup, GA in full sunlight. They were in the open cardboard box they are pictured in.

Knowing our resources are stretched beyond thin, we asked the assistant manager who found them to post them and contact other rescues, and both Humane Societies who service our area. By 1PM, the only responses they’d received was “No.” The longer bottle babies go without eating and sick kittens go without care, the harder (and often more expensive—in money, manpower, and time) it becomes to get them healthy and adoptable.

These kittens like many of the abandoned and orphaned kittens who have flooded FabuCats in the past 2 weeks need vaccination on intake (or soon after if not yet old enough), parasite treatment, systemic antibiotics, antibiotic eye ointment/drips, probiotics, and good nutrition. The bottle babies need around the clock bottle feeding and all the accompanying supplies. Plus, there are so many other supplies needed to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Please, if you can give, give what you can NOW. Please react, comment, and share to help get this post in front of more eyes with the hearts and means to help.

Everyone can do something; please do what you can.

If just 100 of our 3,800 followers gave $25, we’d more than meet these needs. If half of our followers gave just $1, we’d be close enough to alleviate sooo much stress on the humans working so hard.

Truly, we cannot do it without you. Thank you.

📢🚨$2000 STILL NEEDED🚨📢 for essential
medications and supplies! PLUS, the hardworking AC unit in our quiet room has quit and another one is quitting! We have shopped for the best deals for window/wall units, but need to raise $600 to purchase two replacements TOMORROW, we hope!🤞🏼🙏🏼🤞🏼

We are so grateful for every FabuFriend who donated in July. Your kind generosity provided for so many needs, and allowed us to maximize the rare opportunity to buy 9 pallets of dry cat food. However, we did not raise the full amount needed to buy the food AND the supplies depleted by a brutal Kitten Season, and began August with a $2500 funding shortfall.

So, for the FabuCats and kittens, we once again ask you to give what you can to, “HELP, help, please!”

We’re certain that’s what this precious boy is meowing at the top of his lungs in the first photo! Or, he may just be asking us to be a bit faster serving his dinner! 😸 This sweet boy came to us after his mother disappeared, along with a few other cats in the same colony. Most of the other cats in the colony returned injured. She did not return.

He arrived underweight and in poor shape, with eyes sealed shut and nose stuffed up, suffering from a terrible URI. With your help, we are able to provide the care he needs to fully recover from his URI. Today, his eyes are clear and he is growing stronger and healthier everyday!

This baby has yet to be named. These past two weeks have us a bit frazzled and burned out on names. Please leave name suggestions in the comments.

If you can give, please give what you can today. Engaging with our posts by reacting, Commenting, and sharing, are great and totally free ways to help!

Our solution for mealtime with messy weaning kittens—raised bowls and a Rubbermaid tote lined with paper towels! Though the way this trio eats with their entire upper body, the raised bowls can’t do as good a job as they usually do.😸

Right now, FabuCats has 9 weaning and 7 bottle babies that were true emergency intakes—orphaned, abandoned, at risk of predators, and/or very sick—over just the past two weeks.

Weaning can be a dangerous time for even healthy kittens who are with their mom, but especially for kittens who already face challenges and are in a shelter setting. Our kittens, especially bottle babies and weaning kittens, are weighed at least daily. Kittens grow so fast, and they should never be losing weight. Weight loss in kittens indicates a problem that needs to be solved with a quickness.

While weaning, it’s important to ensure kittens are actually eating and not just “meat nursing” on the slurry or pate being offered to them. Sometimes they may seem to be chowing down on that yummy wet food, but they may just be sucking on it.

Hannah Shaw, aka Kitten Lady, has several great informational videos about weaning kittens that can be found on her YouTube channel. We think this one is especially helpful:

https://youtu.be/cVaM-E302Jc?is=KTDd875WD5CT18zM

After they finish their meal, the kittens get a wipe down or bath, if needed, and then snuggle down for naps! Their sleep and play areas are not covered in food and the Rubbermaid tote wipes down and sanitizes easily, ready for their next meal! 🐈💖🐈

Blessing your feed this Saturday afternoon with a little video of one of our precious bottle babies falling asleep after her 2pm bottle. Wishing all our time spent just like this—belly full, comfy and cozy, totally relaxed, enjoying a nice looong nap, knowing you are so very much loved!

Our handsome Asher was twice adopted and twice returned through no fault of his own—he was greatly loved by both adopters, but each faced unforeseen life-changing circumstances soon after his adoption. We’re absolutely certain that the third time is the charm and Asher is furever home with one of our most FABULOUS, OG FabuFriends, Renee Helms!🎉💖🎉

He enjoys snuggling with big brother Matthew and sleeping on his bed every night. We know in time he’ll grow to love his feline big sister Fluffy as much as she’ll allow, too! 😹

He loves to play, especially on the screened in porch, and he 10/10 highly recommends the Litter-Robot by Whisker!

Asher is the only survivor of a litter of 6 who were born outdoors. He came to us in very poor condition at just 5 weeks old after his mother and 5 litter mates were fatally attacked. He suffered several puncture wounds, but miraculously survived the attack. When his wounds became infected and abscessed, the person who had been trying to care for him reached out for help. Excellent veterinary care and months of TLC helped him grow big and strong and lusciously fluffy!

Asher is truly a miracle boy, a , and we are so thrilled he and his furever person have now found each other! 💖
