No more litters or dying kittens or being stalked by unfixed males.

The ladies get released after the males because they need to be held longer post spay procedure.

Hoping they all lead healthier and more peaceful lives. 💃🏼😻

Went to scope out a project in a county parking lot as the caretaker has been very worried about the cats. Our days never go as planned as there is always something.

In addition to some pretty banged up males, there’s a mom and nursing kittens.

Him: I read the county is providing money for TNR.

Me: Yes, I know all about that 😂

*The county resolution took about 6 months which was pretty quick considering. Back there sometime in the coming months to talk housing policy with yo soy Caro.

This is Mouse. 🐭😭

He got into a fight or nasty scuffle with another animal of some sort. Residents are claiming an unleashed dog(s), but raccoon fights aren’t uncommon either.

He’s got a mangled ear and toe which may or may not need to be amputated.

Mouse is semi-feral. He does not enjoy being touched, but is not aggressive and is resting comfortably with chris black.

Mouse needs to heal and get stronger before being neutered, but he did get his vaccines and a snap test to check his status and he negative for both FIV and FeLV.

Hopefully, we’ll be back here to trap the rest of Mouse’s colony next weekend, but it’s been non-stop for us. We’re working to get the entire neighborhood stabilized through TNR, but the sheer # of abandoned friendly house cats are slowing us down and taking up resources we don’t even have. It’s a constant source of stress trying to figure out what to do with them all.

We hate constantly having to ask for help, but here are 15 of the 19 cats we’ve trapped, rescued or will need rehab in the last week alone. Despite the horrendous weather, we’re making it happen and are now officially north of 350 cats this year so far and counting.

11 community cats in traps

4 friendlies rescued who will need forever homes

3 more kittens pulled off the street

And 1 who has suffered injuries who will need need additional medical care

*notice the one who wouldn’t cooperate getting his pic taken 😂

We need food, supplies and money to keep going.

Thank you so much to everyone for supporting us. We’re working in Jersey City’s most challenging area. Residents are struggling and the cats are too.

We have a lot to post about this weekend, but starting by introducing Prince Charming.

This fancy cat has been outside since sometime this summer or earlier this year according to residents. I went to set up a drop trap last night in a backyard in preparation for sunrise trapping and spotted him in the dark across the street.

While Jocey was (wo)manning the drop trap early a.m., I went to poke around, set a box trap on the sidewalk and legit stepped on him. He was curled up against a fence in a pile of leaves and debris. I only trapped him because I didn’t have a carrier just traps. And it’s usually a lot easier to just let them walk in vs shove them in.

This cat is hungry and very exhausted. Not to mention so gentle and sweet and loves belly rubs. I don’t even need to tell you all he’s unfixed - that’s a given these days. He’s had no business trying to survive on the street - something he wasn’t doing a great job at.

He immediately got flea treated and some dewormer as he’s loaded and also has ear mites.

For now, he gets to sleep and eat and he’ll be on his way to a vet and neuter appt soon.

I don’t know if he’s a Siamese, part Persian or what, but he’s definitely FAHN-ce and also very filthy.
