Meet Charlie, your new best friend! This gorgeous sheltie mix aims to please his humans and loves attention. At approximately 5 years old, and medium energy level, he will make a great family dog who just wants to be by your side. Charlie came into the rescue with his two 'sisters' and he has a very gentle, playful nature with them. While he is being adopted individually, he would flourish with another playful doggy companion.
Charlie has been working very hard on potty training and has made fantastic progress in his foster home. He will need continued support with this as he transitions to his forever home. It has become clear that having a fenced in yard is a new experience for him. It takes some encouragement to get him to step into the grass but he will often potty right away once in the yard. He seems to only know 'leash walks', not free yard roaming. Over time he is gaining confidence with being in a yard.
During the day Charlie is crated when we are not home, and will happily go to his crate for a treat. Many day to day experiences are new for him and he will look to his humans for guidance if he is feeling unsure.
Charlie has not been cat tested but due to his friendly demeanor, we believe he would do well with proper introductions. He does have some hair loss due to his previous experiences but it is starting to grow back beautifully.
Charlie would fit into many family dynamics easily. He gives gentle little licks and looks at you like you're his whole world.
