Today I want to take a moment to publicly thank the incredible rescue and fosters who brought my dogs into my life. Brown Paws Dog Rescue and Becky Brown
It's easy to see the happy endings—the adoption photos, the wagging tails, the dogs finally home where they belong. What so many people don't see is the endless work that happens behind the scenes to make those moments possible.
Fosters open their homes and hearts, often saying goodbye to dogs they've grown to love. They clean up messes, lose sleep, manage medical needs, work through fears and trauma, and patiently teach dogs how to trust again. Rescue volunteers spend countless hours coordinating transport, fundraising, answering messages, reviewing applications, scheduling vet care, and fighting every day to save one more life.
Much of this work goes unseen, unrecognized, and uncompensated. Yet they continue because they believe every dog deserves a chance.
Because of their dedication, sacrifice, and compassion, I was lucky enough to find my dogs. The joy, laughter, comfort, and unconditional love they bring to my life every day started with people who cared enough to step in when these dogs needed them most.
Thank you for the long days, the difficult decisions, the sleepless nights, the tears, and the unwavering commitment. Thank you for believing in these dogs before the rest of us had the chance to know them. My family is complete because of your work, and I will always be grateful.
I also want to recognize the many other rescues, fosters, transport volunteers, shelter staff, veterinarians, and animal advocates in our community whose names may not be mentioned today. Every adoption success story is supported by an entire network of compassionate people working behind the scenes. Whether you're saving one life or hundreds, your efforts matter. The impact you make reaches far beyond the animals you help—it extends to the families whose lives are forever changed because of them.
The impact of rescue doesn't end at adoption—it lives on in every happy tail wag, every cozy nap, and every cherished moment shared with a beloved dog.
