Sorry folks for the absence of posts from ARC. We are staying busy with our chicken/duck conservation project, which I might add has kicked off with great promise in generating revenues to help support ARC.

As we get ready to usher in March either as a lion or lamb, we are confronted with a balance owed to our form vet clinic Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital located on 1276 Morena Blvd., San Diego, CA 92110, United States.

ARC like so many non profits has felt the damage caused by the pandemic. More and more birds are being acquired as pets and then on the flip side is the need to relinquish a beloved pet due to financial issues which for many are of no fault of their own.

So stay tuned for March 1st as we will be kicking of a fundraiser asking for donations to be sent directly to the clinic to balance out our account, which is just under $3,000. This is the first time we will be asking our supporters to send donations directly to the account we have with Dr. Jenkins and his staff. This guarantees that donations will go to the purpose of the request for financial support.

So mark you calendars and we will begin with an honest effort to bring ARC a bright and exciting spring 2021.

To all our supporters stay well and safe.

Eric Kern
Founder and Presidentof ARC.

Meet Coco our sole umbrella cockatoo who has permanent sanctuary with ARC. Sadly cocos owner suffered a medical situation that along with being in his 80’s made it necessary for coco to come live here at ARC. We try our best to keep owners in situations like this with short reports on how their loving companion is fairing at ARC.

Donations allow us to keep our birds up to date with all medical needs.

I saw this online this morning and this thought came to mind:

The world we leave behind is the world our children and their children will live in. What kind of place do we hope to leave? Teaching the young to care for the planet is to me one of the most important values to teach.

So our new sanctuary maintenance supervisor Tony is a real find. His carpentry skills had been put to the test. We needed to reposition these coops up higher to maximize space for them to scratch around and to escape the rain or high heat. Our Dampierre’s are an endangered breed per the Livestock Conservancy. Our chicken breeds are let out separately to forage and roam the property for bugs and slugs. Our peafowl take card of the field mice and snakes. At ARC we are working towards a zero carbon foot print and these birds not only provide the occasional egg but do vector control “all natural”. On a side note our ducks are vicious slug hunters. Have a great weekend to all our supporters.

Just an update. We still need someone to volunteer to build us our new websight. Please IM us if you have the skills and time or know of someone we may contact. We would really like to get this project started ASAP.

Thanks to all our supporters.

Happy National Bird Day to all our supporters.

Take a moment and just look outside and see the beauty of the feathered creatures we share our world with.

Please financially support avian rescue and rehabilitation groups. ARC is just one among many organizations giving our amazing feathered companions a second chance at a better life to come.

We have a donate button for you to easily make a donation. All donations go to our 100+ birds at ARC. Our endowment covers all salaries and benefits to our employees so your donation does go 100% topur birds.

With the new year we have a positive attitude and have plans to expand ARC with a 40x40x12 aviary attached to the back of the house.

We will do our best to post a minimum of a weekly update so we can stay in touch with our supporters and grow the number of donors we have. We only exist with the help of our generous supporters

So enjoy the article and smile at how this cockatoo is looking at Francis with a question “ where is your crest big white bird?”

Have a great Tuesday.

Friday we will report the status of last years fundraiser.
