Our second date, and let me tell you, Ravi, A1470125, was a perfect gentlemen. We took a stroll together and took in the fresh air, on a beautiful day. He was always checking in with me, such a nice young man. We then took a nice car ride, and listened to music and sang together, and it was quite adorable. He also is a great navigator. We then visited with a friend, and he immediately was ready to do whatever, sit, “paw” gives you his left paw, to make friends with my friend. What a nice guy, being nice to your friends? I think this may be the start of a beautiful relationship. I may not be able to bring you to my home Ravi, but I will help you find that person who wants a friend, who just wants your encouragement and then we were off to the races at Pet Supermarket, and finding the perfect snack for the ride home.

I’m telling you guys - he appears to checks the boxes. We saw other dogs today and even one dog that was reactive to him, Ravi was not interested in a stand off.

✅Appears to be house broken, spent 2 hours inside and no accidents.
✅Not reactive to other dogs, even if other dogs are reactive
✅Will get excited and walk fast, but a quick correction and he will heel. I have 4 spinal fusions and I can handle him.
✅Knows sit, paw, and possibly heel.
✅Enjoys food and treats for a bit, but also really enjoys good scratches on his hind legs and butt. After that, he will lean in for good ear scratches as well, and then you are his best friend.
✅Enjoys cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets, as well as the occasional French fry.
✅Seems to love kids, and must have been in a family at some point. Very easy to walk, and seems to be looking for his children or family. Happy to sit and eat a snack or enjoy a quiet talk sitting on some grass.

Ravi is somehow still at Animal Care & Protective Services after 9 months. How is this possible? I picked him up yesterday and though it was our first time meeting, he quickly jumped up into my SUV and was so happy to ride around.

Quick Highlights:
✅Easy to handle, may know heel, but definitely knows sit, and gives you his left front paw.
✅Sweet, takes food and treat gently and is very patient
✅Seems to absolutely love kids, and definitely appeared to have been around them before. He stopped in his tracks and turned around when a little girl behind us fell down and was crying. He also was absolutely in love with a 6 year old boy who was climbing the playground equipment. He watched and whined when the boy was up high, and was so happy when he came back down and played with him.
✅Loved riding in the car, likes the windows up and low volume music is actually preferable to total silence for Ravi
✅ 10/10 on a short quiet afternoon at the park, lots of sniffing, but more interested in people. Large hats on men was the only thing that he said “naw, I’d rather go this way” 😁

Please go by and ask to meet Ravi. He’s trying so hard to be a good boy and wait patiently, but 9 months is a long time, and he is ready to check out of this hotel and into your home with you.

We're super excited to announce that the Paw-t of Gold Puppy Walk, a giant community group walk around the shelter grounds, will be next Sunday, March 15th from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM! These walks are amazing opportunities to get HUNDREDS of our dogs out for extra exercise, sniffies, and smoochin' brand new friends (hint: that's you). They're also the perfect way for us to meet new community members, brag about the work our shelter does, and even get a cute photo op or two. All you have to do is show up in your walking shoes! Our staff and volunteers will introduce you to your dogs, keep you stocked up with treats, and provide anything else you might need.

Go to Animal Care & Protective Services and meet Naveen. He is shy, but warms up quickly. We had a lovely day in the park, and he was the best boy.

Naveen, the dream. We took a trip, to see what’s up. And guess what, we found a pup cup! Cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets, then there squirrels by the buckets, at the park where we played, and laid in the sun. We sniffed and played, and had so much fun.

Naveen is so sweet, a little timid. Needs some groceries to get a bit more meat on his bones, but he was a great dog for someone who needs a calm dog, who doesn’t pull or chase. Naveen would stop and stare when he saw kids, as if he so wanted to play with them. He didn’t chase any squirrels, and seems to know heel, leave it and possibly lay down. Definitely likes treats and cuddling. Easy going sweetheart who just wants some love and fresh air to sniff. I’ll be coming back to take him out until he gets adopted.
