Happy Friday Yall!!!

TGR tip of the week:
A young dogs first few hunts should be focused on the dog. Take 1-2 people & let them do the shooting while you work with your dog. Make sure the dog has a good view of where you anticipate the birds to fall & tie your pup up. There's a lot happening on a hunt for a young dog & it can be overwhelming to them. We want them to be successful, while doing it safely. Also, take a bumper with you for when shooting is slow & you can get some work in with your pup. Hope this helps you have a better hunt!!!

Happy Friday Yall!!!

Tip of the week:
As I sit here listening to the glorious sound of rain pouring down this morning, I want to take a minute & discuss the importance of Obedience. Once a dog completes training with us, thats not the end. YOU HAVE TO PUT IN THE WORK AS WELL!!!
More often then not, I see dogs that have been trained to a standard, go home after completing training & revert back to doing as they please. Life can get in the way & time isn't always on your side. I get it!!!! Kids, ball games, vacations, holidays or whatever the case may be. Try to take 10-20min a day & work with your pup on the basics (Here, Heel, Sit, Down, Up, Place & Kennel) while your watching your favorite show, waiting on your significant other to get ready to go out, waiting on dinner to finish or even rainy days. Obedience can be done anywhere & a little can go a long ways!!! Take them places that are dog friendly (On-Leash of course) Make it fun (for you & the dog) & be consistent!!! Good Obedience will make for a better hunt &/or get you invited back.
Hope this helps & as always, I'm here if you need me.

For those that don't have the time, we have a few spots available for Tune-Ups before the season.

Earlier in the summer we went to an event at White County K9 Academy for the grand opening of their dock diving pool & won a free photo session for Ozzy with Golden Portraits Photography & Sydney Ozersky. Couldn't be happier with how the pics turned out. You're awesome Sydney!!! Thank You!!!
