Five common signs your dog may have allergies are:
1. Constant itching or scratching — especially around the face, ears, belly, paws, or armpits.
2. Licking or chewing their paws — sometimes enough to make the skin red or irritated.
3. Frequent ear problems — redness, odor, discharge, head shaking, or recurring ear infections.
4. Red or irritated skin — including rashes, bumps, hair loss, or “hot spots.”
5. Digestive issues — recurring vomiting, diarrhea, gas, or soft stools can sometimes occur with food allergies.
These symptoms can also come from fleas, infections, parasites, or other conditions, so persistent or severe symptoms are worth having a veterinarian evaluate.
