Animals are commitments not Christmas gifts 🎁
The “Adopt not shop” or “breeders are just money hungry”
Those statements are false not 100% of the time but let’s think about these statements for a second.
Adopt not shop is usually referring to going to a shelter and not going to a breeder; now in this case if you want a “free animal” because you can’t afford what breeders charge then you should not have a animal in the first place.
Lots on animals at the shelters are not breed correctly, you don’t know their parents background, temperament, underlying health problems, genetics etc.
Now here’s the issue because most of the time quality breeders are still labeled “backyard breeders, or too expensive” you can’t have your cake and eat it too.
You are paying a quality breeder for their time, knowledge, hours and hours of research, care for not only the puppies, but parents. So no they won’t be $300.
Just because a dog has paperwork also doesn’t make them worth the price.
But you cant expect them to have shelter prices for quality well bred animals. And just because they aren’t does not make that breeder “money hungry”.
It’s a full time all year around JOB!
Just like any other job you don’t get free hospital visits, free dental care. Nothing of quality in life is free.
Ask a breeder for references pictures of the parents, last litter pictures, I can provide all of that information and if my WLJ Rotties family has a dog from us they are all in a private group they post my pups as they grow up, ask each other and me for advice, it’s a community.
I will NEVER just breed a dog and say “ok bye wish you luck. “ No I want updates I want pictures I want to help you in any way I can.
And if the breeder is worth ANYTHING AT ALL will take the dog back if you can no longer care for it!
So just food for thought!
And please 🙏🏽 stop slapping two dogs together just because you can and call it breeding without knowing anything about what you are doing!!
Breeders don’t always do this for money; it’s to keep the breed integrity and quality!
So if you do not know what you are doing please get your animals fixed. And if your dogs don’t have paperwork they for sure should NEVER be breeding!
