NEW FOSTER! šŸ–¤šŸ¤

Meet Dash! I usually don’t take singletons. I feel like I should be doing more when there are so many kittens needing help. I also feel bad leaving a singleton alone on days when I’m at work. This little guy is on the tail end of an upper respiratory infection and needed some TLC. Dash is about five weeks old and exactly one pound, so he’ll be with me for about a month. He’s very playful and sweet. He cleaned his plate of wet food that I gave him. I can’t wait for him to be able to meet Bodie and Bear in a couple of weeks!

Yes, I’ve had a Dash before (his name was short for Dashing). This little guy was already named by the shelter, and it fits him, so we are keeping it. 😺

ADOPTED! šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰

Franks’ forever family found him on Monday, so both he and Tobasco are adopted! I haven’t been to the shelter yet this week to confirm, but I assume they’ve both had their neuter surgeries and are hopefully settling into their new homes now. I’m so thankful that Franks didn’t have to spend much (if any) time alone at the shelter. I know these once shy boys were so ready to for their next adventures and for all the love and attention they deserve. Congrats to Franks and Tobasco and to their new families! šŸ’™

I’ll be welcoming new fosters on Saturday! 🐾

I visited the boys again yesterday. It was likely the last time I’ll see Tobasco. His forever family found him on Thursday. He will probably have his neuter surgery and go home this week. I’m so happy for him. šŸ’™

Unfortunately, another weekend has passed with Franks being overlooked. Once Tobasco goes home, Franks will be all by himself in his kennel at the shelter. He’s such a sweet boy. I really don’t understand why no one has chosen him yet. I’m hoping when Tobasco goes home and the ā€œfish-based diet onlyā€ sign can be removed from the kennel door that people won’t automatically overlook Franks because they think he has special dietary needs. Franks has no special needs and was one of the easiest kittens I’ve ever fostered. He’s happy, playful, cuddly, not picky, and has perfect litter box manners.

If you are interested in meeting Franks and possibly taking him home, Humane Society for Hamilton County’s adoption hours are from 12 to 5 p.m. daily (closed on Wednesdays). ā¤ļø

Still waiting. 😭

I just don’t understand how these two haven’t been adopted yet. Tobasco was on hold today, but the potential adopter didn’t come back to finalize the adoption. He had a lot of interest while I was there this afternoon, but since he was on hold, he unfortunately wasn’t available for other meet and greets today. Franks had several meet and greets. He gets pretty nervous and shy in those situations though so potential adopters aren’t getting to see his true personality. There was an older lady who wanted to adopt him, but she was not approved because she was adamant about declawing him if he scratched the furniture. ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Both kittens are much more confident in their kennel now. They aren’t tucked away in the Kitty Kasa all the time and instead are out playing and interacting with visitors through the kennel door. I took them a spring toy, and Franks was so happy! He carried it all around the kennel and kept swatting at Tobasco to let him know he wasn’t sharing. šŸ˜‚ They were super sweet and full of purrs for me. Probably because I also brought them some of their favorite fishy treats. 🄰

Fingers crossed that they find their perfect forever home(s) soon. If you think that might be with you, you can visit them at Hamilton Humane tomorrow from 12 to 5 p.m. ā¤ļø

ADOPT US! šŸ’™

I visited Franks and Tobasco today. They are still waiting for their perfect forever home(s). Another volunteer said they aren’t being seen much because they spend a lot of time in their Kitty Kasa. 😿

They came right out when I visited with them. They hopped into my lap, purred, played with toys and each other, and ate. They were very brave while I was with them when other people came into the cattery and were walking around and talking. They only got spooked when a young child screamed in the next room. Tobasco jumped off my lap and back into the kennel. I hope someone will give them a chance soon. They may seem a little skittish at the shelter, but they are totally different kittens in a home environment.

Franks and Tobasco are available for adoption . You can find them in Cattery 4, Kennel 56. Adoption hours are from 12 to 5 p.m. daily (closed on Wednesdays). More information on the adoption process and the online adoption application can be found at hamiltonhumane.com/adopt. 🐾

Tobasco! šŸ’™

Tobasco is such a sweet kitten. Whenever I came in the foster room, he’d nearly trip me weaving in between my legs and bumping into me. He was so weak and frail when he arrived. He didn’t play or interact with Franks. He would come sit in my lap sometimes though. It was so rewarding seeing his body and personality grow as he started feeling better. Now he’s a super playful and cuddly little guy. While he currently has some special dietary needs to keep him healthy and growing, it’s very manageable. He’s more than worth a little extra effort!

Franks and Tobasco are waiting for their forever homes. You can meet them . Adoption hours are 12 to 5 p.m. daily (closed Wednesdays). Visit hamiltonhumane.com/adopt for more information. 🐾

I realized all the cat/kitten profiles on the shelter’s website have the ā€œneeds a fosterā€ message now. It must be because they are so full. More fosters and adopters are desperately needed! ā¤ļø

Franks! šŸ’™

Franks was such a hissy little kitty a few weeks ago. Now he is a total sweetie! Whenever I went in the foster room, he’d get on the cat tree or climb to the top of the scratching post asking me to pick him up. He immediately melted in my arms, snuggled up against my shoulder, and purred. He is so playful and wants all the toys all at once. He’s always carrying a toy around in his mouth while trying to chase or catch another one. Most recently, he became very possessive of the spring toys, growling while carrying one around. He is a super easy kitten. He’s not picky at all as far as food goes and has perfect litter box habits. He should be a great fit for most any home. He might be a little shy at first, but he warms up quick!

Franks and Tobasco are waiting for their forever homes. You can meet them . Adoption hours are 12 to 5 p.m. daily (closed Wednesdays). Visit hamiltonhumane.com/adopt for more information. 🐾

So long, Franks and Tobasco! šŸ’™šŸ’™

The boys are back and available for adoption! These once shy kittens are now the sweetest little loves. Tobasco was under 1.5 pounds and frail when he arrived a few weeks ago. Last night he weighed in at 2 pounds 10 ounces! I’ll make individual posts for each of the boys soon.

Tobasco’s website profile has ā€œlooking for a fosterā€ on it. I’m not sure if that’s a typo or if they want him to be a ā€œfoster to adoptā€ due to his tummy issues. After this past week, I am certain he has a sensitivity to chicken. There was definitely a pattern that if he ate any of the chicken food I gave Franks sometimes, he would throw up. The other night he ate some chicken kibble and threw up multiple times all over the room. I donated a small bag of the Pro Plan salmon kibble to the shelter for him since his tummy tolerates it. I also included some in his adoption goodie bag along with several cans of Blue Wilderness salmon (and a bunch of non-chicken Churus!).

If you are interested in meeting and adopting Franks or Tobasco, adoption hours are 12 to 5 p.m. daily (closed on Wednesdays). Visit hamiltonhumane.com/adopt for more information. 🐾
