🐾 Wishlist Wednesday 🐾

This week, we are asking for three items that support the health, safety, and enrichment of animals in our care:

💧 Hydra Care cat hydration supplements
🐕 Martingale collars
🧩 KONG Wobblers

Hydra Care supplements help support hydration for cats who may need encouragement to consume more fluids.

Martingale collars are used when dogs leave the shelter for outings and help new adopters safely handle their new companions as they adjust to unfamiliar people, places, and routines.

KONG Wobblers turn food and treats into an interactive activity. Dogs must push and move the toy to release the rewards inside, providing mental stimulation and making mealtime more engaging.

Monetary donations are processed through Friends of Indy Animals, our nonprofit fundraising partner, and are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You can make a monetary donation or view our current wish lists here:

They have been waiting for months. Week after week, they watch other dogs leave with new families while they remain behind.

Ella. Winston. King. Arnold. Handsome. Peegee. Diesel. Xena.

These are currently the eight longest-stay dogs at IACS. Each has spent between 109 and 175 days in our care. That is months of sleeping in a kennel, listening to the noise of the shelter and waiting for someone to finally choose them.

They are not here because they are less deserving. They have simply been overlooked.

This week, we are asking our community to look again. Share their names. Tell your friends. Come meet them. Somewhere out there may be the person each of these dogs has been waiting for all this time.

Adoptions are first come, first served. There are no appointments or adoption holds. Please bring identification and plan to spend time meeting the dog with our adoption team.

📍 Indianapolis Animal Care Services

The $60 adoption fee includes spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, a microchip and support from our adoption team.

For these eight dogs, adoption would mean more than leaving the shelter. It would mean their long wait was finally over.

No wrong numbers here. Every kennel leads to someone worth meeting. 🐾

Some are playful. Some are quiet. Some want long walks, while others would prefer to supervise your television choices from the couch.

Come see who feels right for your home during Home Is Calling! Adoption fees will be waived for all adoptable dogs and cats.
