I'm sure going to miss this guy. Peregrine goes to Lazy Cat Lounge today and takes a big piece of my heart with him. Bittersweet to say goodbye to him 🥺 but now he has a chance to charm adopters in person and I know he will get adopted quickly. I love you so much little Pere Pere 💙

Foster updates -

I've been MIA for a while, taking a Facebook break.

Peregrine is doing amazing!! He is the friendliest sweetest boy. He will be going to Lazy Cat Lounge this weekend. If anyone wants to adopt him before then, get your app in ;) It is always very bittersweet for me when one of my fosters goes to the cafe. Because of me, Peregrine didn't get euthanized at a shelter. He got the medical care he needed, and is healthy and happy and will have a wonderful, long life. That's so special to me and I hate to part with him, but I'm also happy he will get to meet adopters. All he needs is someone to meet him and they'll fall in love ❤️ but I will really miss him here. I hope whoever adopts him will keep in touch.

Donut is also doing fantastic. She's become super friendly, she rarely is spicy anymore. My mom is visiting and she even likes my mom! Donut has some digestive issues we are working on, then I think she could be adoptable to the right home. She is still tiny, we think she will always be a small kitty.

Pineapple is at the vet today for some diagnostics. She's doing somewhat better but we still don't have answers to what's been making her feel unwell. If you are able to help with the cost of her care, please donate on the My New Cat Rescue website ❤️ she's having an ultrasound and echocardiogram and that stuff is not cheap. Through it all, she remains the sweetest kitty and whenever she's ready for adoption, someone will be lucky to have such a sweetpea ❤️

My basement girls are doing very well too. They are friendly and sweet and just a joy to be around. Their owner is doing well and said he hopes he can reclaim soon. He needs to get into an apartment and is working on that, then will reclaim. He's employed and staying in touch. He misses his girls.

If anyone is able to send wishlist items, our biggest needs currently are urinary/hairball wet food for Donut and disposable food boats, both are on my wishlist. Let me know if you want the link.

🧡Donations needed!🧡 $5 Friday for Buttercup's family & several other kitties 🧡

Buttercup came to us this week with her five beautiful days-old kittens from a rural southern Indiana shelter. She was out of options after being attacked by a dog and not eating for a few days. She and her babies were at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully, several people came together to prevent this and thanks to a very generous sponsor, we were able to get Buttercup immediately to urgent care when she left the shelter. That was a few days ago and she and her kittens are doing so well in foster.

Please consider a donation if you think cats like Buttercup and her kittens deserve a chance. Without funding (and without a foster), we would have had to say no. Each of these kittens (and momma too!) will receive age appropriate care over the coming weeks and months: vaccines, microchips, dewormer, parasite treatments, spay/neuter. We'd love some help in anticipation of those costs.

We had several other cats at the vet this week including a few spay surgeries, abdominal ultrasound for McMuffin, multiple emergency vet visits for Nikita our prolapse kitty, and Carl's wound care. Next week, Nikita, Carl, and Pineapple have vet visits as Pineapple is not doing well again 😭

I was getting the feeling Donut might tolerate sitting on my lap, so I put her on my lap and petted her for the longest I've ever continuously petted her without her swatting or biting me. It was so wonderful 🥺 after a long time, she got up, walked away for a minute, then came back and climbed into my lap willingly. It felt like months of patience and being careful has really paid off. I can't even describe how rewarding this was ❤️ I hope this is our new routine
