🐾Behind the Breed: Labrador Retriever🐾
America's favorite family dog didn't start out as a couch companion!

What Were Labrador Retrievers Bred For?
Despite their name, Labrador Retrievers actually originated in Newfoundland, Canada. They were bred to help fishermen retrieve fish, nets, and ropes from icy waters. Later, they were refined in England as sporting dogs, excelling at retrieving waterfowl for hunters.
