Meet Ash — An Eight‑Month‑Old Silver Labrador With a Heart Ready to Heal. Ash is an eight‑month‑old, 34‑pound Silver (diluted chocolate) Labrador with the softest coat and an even softer heart. She was one of many dogs removed from a hoarding situation by a local animal control center that simply didn’t have the space to keep her safe. We were able to step in just in time. When Ash arrived, the world felt big and unfamiliar. She was timid, unsure, and still trying to understand what it meant to be safe. But even in those first moments, her sweetness was unmistakable. Today, Ash is blossoming. She loves to play, enjoys the company of all dogs, and is slowly discovering that life can be gentle. She’s learning how to live in a home—how to go potty outside, how to explore without fear, and how to trust that good things are ahead. Every day, she adds a little more confidence to her stride. Ash’s Strengths: Ash has countless wonderful qualities that make her a joy to have around: - Great With All Dogs, especially small ones. She’s playful, gentle, and respectful. - Loves Affection — head rubs, full‑body rubs, and resting her head in your lap are her love language. - Knows Basic Commands — responds to “Ash,” comes when called, knows “sit” and “no,” and is learning “back” and “down.” - Sleeps With You — she’s happiest curled up beside her person. Ash is the kind of dog who will thrive with a patient, loving family willing to guide her as she continues to come out of her shell. She is easily trainable, incredibly sweet, compliant, friendly, and full of potential. She has survived the hard part — now she just needs someone to show her what it feels like to be truly loved. Ash has been fully medically vetted and microchipped. To adopt Ash, please complete our pre‑adoption application: https://www.southernskiesrescue.org/adoption-application
