It's "Meet the Team Monday"! Please take a few minutes and get to know our newest doctor! We LOVE her!

Dr. Milena Blanes grew up in São Paulo, Brazil, and earned her veterinary degree from São Paulo State University (UNESP). She completed advanced training internationally, including an externship at Colorado State University, a veterinary internship in Florida, and an equine reproduction residency at the University of California, Davis. She later earned a Master’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Alberta in Canada. Dr. Blanes obtained her U.S. veterinary license in May 2022 and practiced in the Sugar Land area for four years before joining Pet Vet Animal Hospital.

She is dedicated to small animal medicine and surgery, with interests in soft tissue surgery, emergency care, dentistry, internal medicine, and client education. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, horseback riding, outdoor adventures, and spending time with her husband, Travis, and their three dogs.

Dr. Mike Mark

Dr. Mark is a second generation veterinarian. Dr. Mark is one of the founders of Pet Vet Animal Hospital and has been in practice over 48 years. He loves what he does and plans to continue for some time into the future. Dr. Mark has 4 children and lives in Sugar Land. He is an Eagle Scout and remains a Scout Leader. It's "Meet The Team Monday"! We are starting with Dr. Boppana, the fearless leader of our crazy crew!

Dr. Boppana was raised in a rural India with lots of farm animals. His compassionate nature and eager enthusiasm for treating animals developed at a very young age. With lots of encouragement from his parents, he pursued a career in veterinary science. He received his
education in both India and the United States.

Dr. Boppana received his training to become a veterinarian in India in
1994. He earned a Master of Veterinary Science degree and Doctor of
Philosophy. He completed his Post-Doctoral fellowship at University of
Connecticut Health Center before joining UTMB Galveston as a
research scientist at the Center for Biodefense and Emerging
Infectious Disease, Department of Pathology, Galveston National
Laboratories. He received several prestigious awards and fellowships
like Young Scientist Award, NIH fellowship.

Dr. Boppana is a member of the American Veterinary Medical
Association (AVMA), American Association of Veterinary
Parasitology (AAVP), Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) and
other professional organizations.

Dr. Boppana is a general practitioner with professional interests in
surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, dermatology, infectious diseases
and immunology.
