Every dog deserves the opportunity to live a happy, active, and fulfilling life, regardless of their physical abilities.

But how can we help dogs with disabilities stay strong, confident, and engaged in the activities they love?

We’re excited to announce an upcoming YouTube collaboration featuring Steven from Venture Dog Training and Dr. Might from Violet Crown Veterinary Specialists

We’ll talk about ways to support dogs with disabilities through purposeful movement, appropriate exercise, and activities that encourage mobility, confidence, and overall quality of life.

Because having a disability doesn’t mean a dog has to stop exploring, playing, or enjoying life.

🎥 Coming soon to our YouTube channel!

Stay tuned for the full conversation, and follow us so you don’t miss it!

Enrichment isn’t about keeping your dog busy every second of the day. It’s about giving them meaningful opportunities to be a dog. 🐾

That might mean slowing down to sniff on a walk, searching for food, solving a puzzle, exploring different surfaces, moving their body with purpose, or simply having the space to rest and recover.

Because enrichment doesn’t look the same for every dog. What excites one dog may overwhelm another, and more isn’t always better.

The best enrichment meets the dog in front of you by balancing mental engagement, purposeful movement, natural behaviors, choice, and recovery.

Pay attention to what your dog enjoys. Let their comfort guide you. And build a life that supports their body, behavior, and emotional well-being, not just one that keeps them entertained. 💙

Need help finding activities that actually fit your dog? Venture Dog Training can help you build an individualized enrichment plan.

Is your dog built for the sprint… or the marathon? 🐕💨

Just like us, dogs have different muscle fiber types that play a role in how they produce power, speed, and endurance.

Some fibers are better suited for longer, sustained activities, while others shine during short, explosive bursts. And because every dog has their own balance, a well-rounded fitness program shouldn’t focus on just one type of exercise.

💪 A balanced approach incorporates both aerobic and anaerobic exercise to help develop strength, endurance, and overall fitness.

At Venture Dog Training, we believe fitness should be built around the individual dog in front of you—their abilities, needs, and goals.

🐾 Is your dog more sprint or marathon? Tell us below!

Save this for your next training day, or share it with a dog parent who loves learning how their dog moves.

This week Steven Tallas of Venture Dog Training and The Watering Bowl ATX teamed up for a free community event called Move Better, Play Better, an event focused on helping dog parents understand what canine fitness is and how it could help their dog move better doing active things, such as going to their favorite dog park.

We joined for a huddle to break down canine movement and injury prevention. Afterwards, we had pet parents apply the skills themselves with their own pups.

It was such a pleasure teaming up and look to run more community events in the near future!

Progress with a reactive dog isn’t just about changing their behavior, it’s about helping you feel more confident, prepared, and connected to your dog. 🐾

We love hearing that Nicole walked away with practical techniques and tools to better understand and manage her dog’s reactivity. Even better? Her dog loves working with Steven along the way. 💙

Training should give both ends of the leash the skills to move forward with more confidence.

Thank you, Nicole, for trusting Venture Dog Training with your journey!
