A busy weekend clearing out the barn for the next lot of lambing, clearing out 2 stables for the ewes and lambs to move into, clearing up all the waste hay around hay racks, loading 200 hay bales and planting a few more hedge plants.💪🏻🐑💩

I for one will be looking forward to having a rest tomorrow sat in front of my computer at work. 😂😜

They just keep on having fun 🤩

And then there were 3 little lambs.....

Tina from Haven Acres Goat Rescue reached out to us today about 4 newborn lambs who were born at a slaughterhouse and dropped off with her last night.
Although her small rescue is no longer doing intake, she gave the 4 little lambs a safe place to land. I didn't feel I could take on 4 with everything we have going on but said we could take 2. Our little orphaned lamb Lollie could use some friends and we feel that sheep do better with sheep friends. So our amazing mother/daughter transport duo picked up the two tiny little Katahdin lambs this afternoon. The little boy is just teeny tiny and his sister is full of spunky personality! So far Lollie is scared of them but we know it won't take long until the trio are BFFs.

I got the new lambs set up in our medical space as I was able to move one of the goats recovering from surgery back to the quarantine barn as she is doing well. Once Lollie starts to bond with them I will start transitioning her to overnight barn baby status.

It truly never ends in rescue. I'm happy we could help these little ones and give Lollie some friends of her own 🐑❤️🐑

Exciting news at the VIADER property!
One of our Nigerian Dwarf goats, affectionately named "Lupe the calming goat" (those of you with young children may catch the movie reference) gave birth to a son this week! We couldn't be more excited to introduce Sonny. He will fit right in with the rest of our
hardworking herd, mowing the hillsides around our vineyards and keeping us all safer from the threats of wildfires. Maybe some of you recognize the floppy ears...he gets those from his father "Billy the Kid" who was also born here just last year. Billy is a quick learner ;)

Rocket 🌈❤️

If you're one of our early followers you may remember Rocket as not only our first Instagram post but the face of PSGR. Before there was Nicky & Nitro there was Rocket. Rocket was just one of "those" goats, he captured the heart of everyone who knew him and was so very special.

Rocket came to us directly from a breeder when he was a couple months old. They were planning on keeping him as a buck until they discovered he had a double teat on one side so he was surrendered to us. Rocket was a very stoic goat from the start. Quiet, calm and an old soul. He loved his people. He was up for every photo shoot and his handsome face was everywhere those first few years.

As much as we would have loved to keep Rocket at the rescue, as he got older, we felt he would benefit from a quieter home of his own. He never bonded to any specific goat and didn't thrive in a big herd. We weren't going to let him go to just anyone though, there was only one option, the Haas family.

The Haas family have long been involved with PSGR, since their girls were just babies and the family fell in love with Rocket and he loved those little girls.
When the Haas family bought their dream farm, we knew, it was time and the best forever home for our beloved boy.

Our Mother's Day Mingle event is just under 2 weeks away and there are just 6 tickets left! That is less than the number of babies I brought home from the dairy today.

Grab your tickets before they're gone! Link is in our profile.

After Beau passed, I knew I wanted to save a couple more from the dairy in his memory. We couldn't save Beau but we could save a few more. With our first group of this year's kids headed to their new homes this week opening a barn stall and me already making the trip to the dairy for a special new arrival (we'll introduce her soon, our monthly Patreon donors have known about her for awhile & I'm so excited she's here) it was perfect timing.

I said I was only going to take 2 but with how many they had born there this week and our bottle babies much more manageable now, I knew that me leaving with only 2 was more than likely not happening.

So say hello to our 7 newest babies! 3 boys and 4 girls, all 4-5 days old. We're already so in love🥰

Don't miss your chance to meet them and all of our current rescues Mother's Day weekend
