My heart is broken for the families affected by the devastating floods in Central Texas. The loss, the destruction, and the pain being felt across these communities is unimaginable.

My daughter’s gymnastics gym and other Katy area businesses are stepping up to help and are currently accepting donations to support flood victims. If you feel called to give, we are collecting:

🧼 hygiene items & toiletries
🧻 toilet paper & paper towels
🧃 bottled water & non-perishable snacks
🍼 diapers & wipes
👚 gently used clothes & shoes
🗑️ trash bags
💳 gift cards (most needed!)
💵 monetary donations

April is Dog Fighting Awareness Month.

This image was taken just weeks ago at a Houston-area animal shelter following a rescue of several dogs used in a dog fighting ring. These chains and collars were found on the animals at the time of rescue.

This barbaric activity has no place in our society. Its cruel practice inflicts unimaginable suffering on animals. Throughout April, we will be urging residents to be vigilant. Unfortunately, we know this criminal behavior happens in our backyard. To put an end to it, we need the community in unison.
