Meet Emory!

Nickname: Emmy
Breed: Arkansas Brown Dog (Pit/Shepherd mix)
Birthday: May 4
Age: 2 yrs

Superpower: Professional Enthusiast. 💛

Whether it’s chasing a ball, splashing in the water, wandering slowly down the trail, frolicking through tall grass, or stopping to sniff every interesting smell… if the other dogs are excited about it, Emmy is all in! Her joy is contagious, and she’s happiest when she’s sharing an adventure with her friends.

Here’s what her mom, Amy, had to say about Adventure Club:

“My favorite part of Adventure Club is knowing the pure enjoyment Emmy gets out of it. She’s an energetic dog who loves to play, so it gives me so much comfort knowing she isn’t sitting home alone while I’m at work. And it’s always a bonus to come home to one exhausted pup!”

“Just as important, though, is the confidence Emmy has gained. Before she joined Adventure Club, she was scared of everything. Over the last year and a half, I’ve watched her confidence and bravery soar.”

“I think Emmy’s favorite part is being with the other dogs. She’s still a little timid around people, but she absolutely LOVES other pups. She loves to run, swim, and play with them, and when she gets home completely wiped out, I know she’s had the best day with her friends. And she adores Jona—when she walks through the door, Emmy’s tail wags harder than you’ve ever seen!”

✨ Meet Hank!

🎈 Age: 13 years young
🌿 Adventure Club Superpower: Professional Sniffer & Territory Inspector (If there’s a tree, rock, or blade of grass… Hank’s gonna sniff it and probably p*e on it. 😂)

💚 From his mom, Jenaya:

“My favorite part of Adventure Club is seeing how excited Hank is to go, how soundly he naps when he gets home, and how happy he is while he’s out on his adventures. I also love the pictures Jona sends of Hank and his fellow adventure walkers.

Hank’s favorite part is getting to spend time with Jona, who showers him with love while letting him do what he loves most—being in nature with his friends. He enjoys his quiet time, but he also thoroughly loves socializing and simply getting to be a dog for several luxurious hours.

Adventure Club has given Hank extra exercise, a better quality of life, socialization, and the chance to experience more of the world beyond our home. It’s the next best thing to living on acreage—it’s like Hot Springs National Park is his backyard.”

🤎 Hank is proof that age is just a number. At 13 years old, he still greets every trail with curiosity, every smell with determination, and every adventure with a wagging tail. We’re so grateful to have this sweet old soul as part of our Adventure Club family, and we hope he keeps sniffing every inch of the National Park for years to come. 🐾🌿

💦 Adventure Club Superpower: Olympic-Level Water Enthusiast (He can entertain himself in the water for hours!)

💚 From his mom, Delaney:

“My favorite part about Adventure Club is knowing Romo is having the time of his life while getting his energy out! I think Romo’s favorite part is being around all the other dogs—and definitely being in the water. He is a huge water dog!

Adventure Club has been such a great thing for both of us. I have a busy schedule, so knowing he’s getting exercise, playtime, and so many adventures makes me feel so much better. He loves getting out of the house instead of being inside all day.

And I love knowing Romo is in such great care!”

Romo brings so much joy to Adventure Club, and whether he’s splashing, swimming, or just happily entertaining himself in the creek for hours, he reminds us every adventure is better with a little water. This is a looonnnnggg video y’all.

The purpose of showing this in its entirety is to tell you one thing… SLOW DOWN. My biggest piece of training advice is just that, Slow everything down.

This is raw footage of me unloading 7 dogs to take them out for a pack hike. This is the first time I’ve taken this many at once. And there is a lot going on here that I’m not going to unpack. I’ll just say I know these dogs & their skill levels pretty dang well.

I get a lot of questions about how do you control that many dogs at one time & the answer (as kooky as it might sound) is with my energy. I’m calm & it’s a concerted effort to be calm. I don’t (most of the time🤪) overreact.

So… slow down, breathe, walk slower, be intentional. Your dog will get more from slowing down than they will from 5 hours of running full tilt.

Urban Gypsy Dog Academy – Foundations Course

I’m excited to officially open registration for the first Urban Gypsy Dog Academy Foundations Class!

This is a 6-week small group training course designed to help dogs build the everyday skills that make life easier and more enjoyable for both dog and owner.

Over the 6 weeks we’ll focus on:

• Loose leash walking
• Impulse control
• Jumping and polite greetings
• Basic obedience (sit, down, recall, place)
• Building focus and engagement around distractions

Saturdays, May 2 – June 6
10:00 AM
Small group format with limited spots so everyone gets individual coaching

This class is ideal for dogs who need clearer structure, better manners, and help learning how to stay calm and responsive in the real world.

If you’d like to reserve a spot or have questions about whether your dog is a good fit, send me a message and I’ll send you the registration details.
