“I don’t keep up with numbers”
“It’s not about how many bear you tree”
Oh but it is. No it’s not about being better then anyone else, it’s about being better then yourself! Last year at this point we was at 66 bear treed or bayed, this year we’re at 107 (that doesn’t include sows and cubs or two bear up the same tree) that’s 41 more bear so far in the same timing. Last year we lost 4 dogs and not just mediocre bear dogs but damn good ones. This year we have 7 month old pups making it truck to tree and treeing. We have 5 month old puppy’s that made it truck to tree first time ever being dropped. I won’t say it’s been easy it’s been full of late nights, early mornings, vet trips and bills (also huge shoutout to The Wellpet Group for always fixing up our dogs) but if it was easy we wouldn’t do it. So in the end yes it is about numbers for us it’s about building back better, it’s about seeing the young dogs do it without help, learning more about our dogs, and watching them grow and work together, and most of all succeeding our goal of 100 bear before October 1st. Here’s to new goals and a healthy and safe rest of the 2026 season🥳
