You remember Posty, the scared, unsure dog who spent weeks living under a house in a crawl space? The dog who was so frightened of people that no one could get close to him. They named him Posty because he would quietly follow the mailman around. ❤️

Look at him now.

It only took a week of patience, kindness, and the company of other dogs for his true personality to shine through. He’s sweet, playful, and absolutely loves having canine friends to romp around with.

Sometimes dogs don’t need fixing. They just need time. They need a chance to feel safe. They need someone willing to believe in them before they believe in themselves.

And that’s exactly what a is all about ❤️.

Rescue certainly is unpredictable. When Hunter showed up spattered with chemical burns as an approximately four month old stray in fall of 2024, we never imagined he would spend over a year and a half with us.

While many dogs have extended stays, few are as perfect as Hunter. Most of the dogs who are with us for a while have medical or behavioral issues that must be sorted through. Not Hunter. The only box he didn’t check was “good with cats.”

All we can figure is that Hunter had work to do here before he could move on to his furever family. You see, Hunter was our official dog tester, because he got along with everyone. He was often the first adult dog a puppy met when it came into our rescue. He was typically the first dog to comfort a scared, newly rescued dog. It seemed he was always the first dog a shy, reserved dog completely let loose with. Worth his weight in gold—that’s what he was.

Hunter, thanks for letting us love on you and for working so hard during your stay.

We are delighted to announce that Hunter is ADOPTED!

Happy Tails, Hunter!

Kiki’s puppies had their first bath today. ❤️

Foster sister Cami helped with their very first bath, and afterward she ended up stretched out in the pen right alongside them. 😊

By the looks of it, bathing a litter of puppies is exhausting work. Everyone was clean, cozy, and ready for a nap. ❤️

Remember when Kiki became critically ill and her puppies suddenly needed somewhere to go?

They were only about five weeks old. Eight puppies who needed a safe place almost overnight.

Connie and her daughter, Cami, didn’t hesitate.

They didn’t ask if it would be convenient. They didn’t ask if someone else would do it. Help was needed, and they said yes.

Those puppies landed safely because someone stepped up when there wasn’t time to wait.

Rescue survives because of people like Connie and Cami.

The truth is that many of the dogs you’ve celebrated over the years only got their happy ending because an ordinary person opened their home and said yes when it mattered most.

Fostering isn’t always easy. Sometimes it’s unexpected and inconvenient, but it ALWAYS saves lives.

Today, all eight of those puppies are safe because one family decided to help.

Never underestimate the difference a single “yes” can make. ❤️

Kiki went back to Magnolia Veterinary Hospital yesterday for the first time since her near death experience. She saw Dr. Doyle and all of the incredible staff who helped save her life over the course of her six day stay.

Dr. Doyle was very pleased with her progress. She still needs to gain approximately 10 pounds and she still has open wounds where multiple abscesses ruptured along her mammary chain. We are cleaning and medicating these twice a day. She wears a T-shirt to keep them clean.

We are still feeding premoistened puppy kibble three times a day. She is too delicate to eat kibble that has not been softened. It will be a process for her to be able to safely eat dried kibble. She is still a body condition score of 2 (of 9), so the re-feeding process is very tedious.

Kiki still has a long way to go before she is fully recovered, but we are so grateful to have made it to this point. This girl is a fighter! Thank you for your support or we would have never made it this far!

It’s no secret our dogs need foster homes, but have you ever thought that your home might just need a foster dog?

When Bri found two pups on the side of the road, she did not hesitate to take them into her home and foster them through their vetting and furever home placement.

Bri could have checked every box on the list of excuses.

✅I can’t foster because I have kids.
❌Bri has three children, including three-year-old twins.

✅I can’t foster because I’m too busy.
❌Bri has three children, including three-year-old twins.🫣🤣

✅I can’t foster because my kids play sports.
❌ Bri has three boys and baseball season was in full swing during this fostering venture.

✅I can’t foster because we already have a dog.
❌Bri has three dogs.

The bottom line is, you can foster if you want to. It’s all about priorities. Bri said the whole family enjoyed the experience immensely and really put their all into making sure the puppies left their home equipped to successfully join another family. She also thinks her kids may have learned a thing or two in the process. Fostering makes better dogs and better people!

If you’ve been on the fence about fostering, now is the time to take that leap. This summer would be a great time to teach your kids about responsibility and the rewards of saving a life. There are dogs falling from the sky who need our help. Our biggest limitation is lack of foster homes. Without a place to put a dog we cannot say yes. If you think fostering is something you would like to give a try, please fill out our foster application today! We supply everything you need and cover all medical costs.

And this is how some of the pups are feeling after their spay and neuter today. 😊

Safe to say they’re all completely zonked out.

But for these pups, it’s a new dawn and a new day. ❤️ They are now fully vetted, one step closer to their forever homes, and no longer part of the cycle of overpopulation that fills shelters every day.

So while they’re sleeping off today’s adventures, their futures are looking brighter than ever.

A little rest today means a healthier future tomorrow ❤️.

06/04/2026

We are in the middle of an animal overpopulation crisis, and one of the most effective ways to change it is through spay and neuter.

This week, 12 dogs are being spayed and neutered through our rescue. On paper, 12 may not seem like a lot. But the impact is enormous.

Just one unaltered female dog and her offspring can produce hundreds of puppies over the course of a few years. Multiply that by 12, and you begin to understand why spay and neuter matters so much.

Every surgery represents litters that will never be born into homelessness, neglect, abandonment, or an overcrowded shelter system already stretched beyond its limits. Every surgery means fewer dogs suffering and fewer dogs dying simply because there aren’t enough homes.

We can’t rescue our way out of this crisis. We can only prevent our way out of it.

This week, 12 dogs are part of that solution. ❤️
