Hey everyone!
I just wanted to take a few minutes to update you on where I see the future of this page going.
When I first started, I was working on Splash Calico silkies. I made my calico using SOP pure colored birds and they had a certain look. I was very proud of them and wanted to share them with everyone. I put a lot of time and love into that color. However, if you have ever worked with Calico, you realize it’s a hard project.This spring I dissolved the pen. I felt 1 step forward lead to 2 steps back. Life was very hard. My FIL had a stroke, my oldest was graduating HS while dealing with AMPS and POTS all while homeschooling and such.
But somehow, I got a lot of rabbits 🤷🏻♀️ rabbit math is real 😆 The rabbits aren’t as easy as everyone thinks either! Rabbits don’t produce like rabbits! I have multiple missed litters. This month I should have 6 litters due but I’ll be lucky to have 1 litter.
Then one day everything felt good and I started to add the birds again! I tripled my silkies in 2 days! Had a calico project going again, had chocolates and Millie’s. Then my yard flooded during a storm, our gas grill went flying and our cars constantly need repaired.
So… life has been LIFING!
I’m NOT doing calico again. I now have a fun pen of silkies with Millie’s and calicos together. I’m going to be downsizing the rabbits soon.
I’ve decided I’m no longer shipping eggs/chicks.
I’ll be offering AFFORDABLE fun chicks. Silkies and bantam EE’s. I’ll offer eggs locally as well.
The chicken world is getting extremely out of control with their prices and I think it’s important to make things affordable again.
