We have 5 new 4 month old kittens at PetSmart! We also have 3 older kittens and two adults. Come meet them Friday 2:30-5, Saturday1:30-4:30, or Sunday 1:30-4:30 at the Petsmart in Hoover behind Walgreens. They're all fixed, tested, vaccinated, and ready for their furever homes!

Claws aren’t a bad habit. They’re how cats stretch, balance, defend themselves, and feel safe in their own bodies. Scratching is communication, exercise, stress relief, and instinct all rolled into one.

Declawing doesn’t “fix” a behavior. It removes a natural ability and replaces it with pain, confusion, and often lifelong issues like anxiety or litter box problems. And none of that is fair to an animal who trusts us completely.

Couches can be replaced. Cat trees can be added. Scratchers can be moved.
But paws deserve to stay whole.

Paws need claws. Protect them. Say no to declawing.

We have been hard at work spaying and neutering feral cats. We deworm and deflea them before release as well as continue feeding and caring for all cats once released back to their colonies. This little girl would not eat after her sugery a few days ago, so we got her help today. This is why TNR cats should not be released too soon after their surgery. Some release in 1 or 2 days, which is much higher risk for the cat. We have always released in 4 to 5 days, but I read recently that research supports best practice is releasing not any sooner than a week after spay surgery.,

Meet PC, short for Pell City where he was found with a crushed leg that ended up leading to a full amputation. He might have three legs but that doesn’t slow him down! He’s the sweetest orange fluffy boy who is a little shy at first but a drooling love bug once you get to know him! He’s currently in foster, contact us to learn more about this handsome man!

I TNR’d this baby over 5 years ago. While feeding at this 4 cat colony site, we realized he was injured. I trapped him again last night and that gash looks pretty bad. Time to get veterinary attention etc. I will deworm him too and apply flea med. Not sure how this happened. The spot is relatively safe comparatively speaking for an outside colony site( the 3 other cats there have been there for 9 years), but anything can happen outside. This little guy really wants to live. If anyone has it in their heart to donate for his care, it is very much appreciated! We couldn’t help these babies without your help.
