DOG DAYS at Discovery Dog Days at Discovery is a FREE family event for the pet lovers of Trace Crossings, Greater Hoover, and beyond.

Dog Days at Discovery is a free event where pets and their people can meet, greet, play, hear live music, shop, eat, make and see art, plus much more - all at Discovery UMC in the Trace Crossings Neighborhood of Hoover. It is an opportunity to meet your pet-loving neighbors and have fun showing off your furry family members. Well-behaved dogs (and children) are welcome; dogs must be on-leash. Ther

e will be live music, food trucks, activities for children and dogs, and pet adoptions. Vendors will include all manner of pet-related businesses from rescues, groomers, and pet sitters to pet photographers and carpet cleaners – everything we need to learn about taking the best possible care of our pets. In addition, for those who are interested, there will be a Blessing of the Pets ceremony in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology, who expressed his devotion to God through his love for all of God’s creation. He cared for the poor and sick, he preached sermons to animals, and praised all creatures as brothers and sisters under God.

Start your day with everybody's favorite breakfast truck, The Heavenly Donut Co..​ For lunch you can choose Street Bowlz​, Wasabi Juan's, or Pazzo Big Slice Pizza and Pazzo Calzone Bakery​. Finish off the afternoon with a fruity or creamy treat from Urban Pops​. All these can be found throughout the parking lot at Discovery United Methodist Church​, 5487 Stadium Trace from 10-2.

Where is Dog Days at Discovery and where do I park? Dog Days is a FREE event and parking is FREE. Discovery is located at 5487 Stadium Trace Parkway. Parking is ACROSS THE STREET by the soccer fields at the Hoover Met parking lot. There will be plenty of signs to direct you to the right spot. Hope to see you soon. Dog Days starts at 10 AM.

This year's Pet Parade will begin at 12:45. Contest Registration is 10-12:30 at the Pet Contest Booth on the Lower Level. There will be prizes for the following:

Cutest
Most Creative Costume
Best Owner/Pet Costume Combo
Team Spirit
Most Original
Best Team Costumes (2 or more dogs)
Best Overall

A KIng and Queen will be chosen to lead the Parade.
