Poor Oakley hasn’t received a single application, and we can’t figure out why. He came to Tracy’s Paws from a hoarding situation in Pearsall, Texas, when he was just a tiny puppy. Today, he’s about 11 months old and weighs 35 pounds. We don’t expect him to get much bigger, but one thing is for sure—this boy is all legs!

Oakley is smart, eager to please, and an all-around good boy. He’s been participating in playgroups and does great with the other dogs. He also loves treats, which means he’ll be a lot of fun and very easy to train.

Well Delta has officially made it past the 1 year mark at Tracy’s Paws? How? Why? If you know typical basset hound behavior, then Delta will be a walk in the park on understanding 😂 Delta is built like a Mack truck and strong. She holds hope that her family/forever home is still out there. She survived the streets and was brought back to her healthy shine that you see in these photos. Looking at her pictures, you'd never know she came in looking like a train wreck. This poor dog lived on the streets for years and she sure looked it when she came in. Those days are behind her now and she is ready to roll on to the next chapter.

Delta is an around 7 yrs old and weighs close to 50 lbs and she is very true to her breed. She is a stubborn Basset Hound who will keep you laughing every day. We enjoy her antics around here and love watching her and her boyfriend Mack play.

Delta was treated for heartworms and is currently being treated for Chagas disease. Don't let that worry you.... she is doing great and strong as a bull. She is doing great on treatment!

She gets along best with male dogs but can coexisit with male or female if its the right dog.

Winston is about 14.4 pounds, about 1 year and 10 months old. He came to Tracy’s Paws Rescue as a street dog and we are grateful to have him with us.

Winston is a sweet boy who is looking for a home that will offer consistency, affection, and a gentle routine. He is hoping to land in a family that will treat them like they have always belonged.

Winston is Chagas negative and has been treated for heartworm.

Winston is located at our shelter near San Antonio, TX and is available with approved application and confirmed adoption. He is neutered, up-to-date on all shots, micro-chipped and his adoption fee is $325.

Reese is such a tiny, gentle peanut.. Reese will be such a comforting best friend for his person or people. He would just love to have a person to be able to love on and be his forever best friend! Another one that is sadly coming up on the 3 year mark of being overlooked, which is hard to believe with her smile that is the size of Texas. Auburn is a petite, sweet, but shy girl. Life obviously never dealt her a fair hand, so it has been hard for her to accept all the positive that she has been given at the rescue. Auburn is coming more and more out her shell, but we know that she would blossom even more in a home with another dog companion to build her confidence. We know her people and her forever home is out there somewhere, but just doesn’t know that she is the missing piece of their puzzle. Please don’t allow Auburn to continue to be overlooked and make that leap for a chance at a home with you.

Jewel is definitely a name that fits for this beautiful mama, who has a heart as pure as gold and loves everyone she comes in contact with. She is coming up on 3 years with Mama Tracy at the rescue, but we just can’t figure out why? How anyone could resist the many faces of shaggy is beyond me.. Shaggy came in pretty rough shape, but mama Tracy fixed him up with love and a much needed bath! Shaggy was unsure if a human touch was love or was just feeding and immediately walking away from him. He realized quickly that the human touch that he would be receiving at Tracy’s paws was a gentle touch with lots of love behind it. Meet Shaggy!
Shaggy is a cute little 13.25pound Chihuahua–Terrier mix who came to us from Laredo, Texas, where he had been living in a backyard with several other dogs and was covered in fleas and ticks.

When he first arrived at Tracy’s Paws, Shaggy was understandably unsure of people. We don’t believe he had much handling in his previous life, and at first he would curl his lip and give us a bit of a stink-eye. But as the days passed and he realized he was safe, his true personality began to shine through. Underneath that cautious start is a very sweet, gentle little boy.

Shaggy is about four years old. Because he needs a little time to warm up to new people, we are recommending a home without small children, where he can feel secure and build trust at his own pace.

The good news is that Shaggy is heartworm-negative and Chagas-negative, and he is more than ready to trade rescue life for a quiet home of his own.

What Shaggy would love most is a soft lap, a patient heart, and a kind home where he can continue to blossom.

There has never been a more tender hearted, sweet, and beautiful girl than Molly. Molly is happiest when she is close to her person or people. It definitely seems as though Molly had a rough beginning, because until she knows that you are not going to hurt her or shoo her away.. she can be a little nervous. Meet Molly, a petite, soft-hearted long-coat Chihuahua mix is ready for a quieter life where she can finally feel safe and loved. At 17 pounds and just about 2 years old, Molly has all the makings of a little best friend—gentle, sweet, and happiest when she’s close to her person.

Molly was found on the expressway, and while we don’t know much about her past, we can tell you this: She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She can be a little nervous when hands come in for pets, as if she’s still learning that kindness is the rule now—not the exception. With a patient adopter and a soft lap, she settles in beautifully and will continue to thrive with someone who’s home a lot and has time to help her continue to build the confidence she has already started to show.

Molly’s eyes have shown some tear staining, but we’re already working on it, and it doesn’t take away from what she truly is: A beautiful little soul who just wants to be cherished.

Molly will not do well in a home where people are gone all the time. She’s the kind of girl who’s looking for a lifestyle with couch time, companionship, and calm comfort—the simple things that mean everything to a dog who’s been through too much.

Meet Azalea. 🌸

Azalea is one of the lucky ones.

She came to Tracy’s Paws from a neglect hoarding situation where far too many dogs were living in a home that had become overwhelmed and unclean. When help finally arrived, Azalea came with 13 other dogs … including her siblings and her mama, Orchid who weighs 25 lbs.

Despite the start she had in life, Azalea is exactly what a puppy should be: sweet, playful, curious, and full of love.

Now she’s discovering what it feels like to have a clean place to sleep, room to run and play, and people who care about her. Watching her run around and enjoy life like a carefree puppy is the best reminder of why we do this.

Azalea loves other dogs and adores people. She would do wonderfully in a home with kids or with anyone looking for a loving, loyal companion.

All she needs now is a family of her own.
