13 years into my grooming career, and this past year has been filled with so much loss.
Dogs that I’ve had the privilege of working with for 10+ years have crossed over the rainbow bridge. Even though they were never technically “my own,” I carry their memories in my heart as if they were. I find myself thinking about their owners, wondering how they’re doing and how they’re carrying the heavy grief of losing their best friend. I know how deeply these dogs are loved, and it’s an honor that their families trusted me to care for them for so many years in all stages of their lives. The hardest part is watching them age, and decline. Wondering if we’ll see them again, or if this might be their last visit. I always make sure to say a special good bye when I’m unsure if I’ll be seeing them again or not.
Grooming has given me a gift of loving so many dogs along the way. To all the sweet souls I’ve had the honor of knowing: you are missed, and you will always have a little piece of my heart. These photos are all very special pups who we miss dearly 🤍🐾🌈
