At Pup Pit Stop, my decisions are rooted in the dogsā wellbeing, peopleās safety, and ethical responsibilityāeven when that responsibility leads to the hardest, most heartbreaking outcome a rescuer can face.
Transparency isnāt optional here. Itās the foundation.
Because pretending a dog is safe when he isnāt doesnāt just put me at risk. It puts families, volunteers, veterinary staff, and the dog himself in danger.
I am here for the dogs.
I am here for the humans who interact with them.
I am not here for the egos of the public.
And sometimes, being here for the dogs means making a decision that the internet doesnāt understand, that strangers judge, or that people with no firsthand experience feel entitled to debate.
Sometimes, being responsible means acknowledging when a dogās behavior is unpredictable, dangerous, and not safely manageable even with structure and professional support.
Sometimes, the ethical choice, the one that protects people and prevents a dog from living in fear, confusion, or constant internal conflict is behavioral euthanasia.
It is never about convenience.
It is never about giving up.
It is never about ego.
It is about safety, mercy, and honesty.
