Just over a year since I first started doing showmanship, and I’m already so proud of how far I’ve come! 🥹

The first photo is from my 2nd time ever doing showmanship, about a year ago, and the second photo is from just the other weekend.

It’s crazy to look back and see the difference in only a year!

I’d also love to know what you guys are interested in seeing from the page! What kind of content would you like more of?

And that’s a wrap on the Michigan State Fair in Novi! 🐔🏆 Another fun (and very long!) weekend in the books!

All of my birds placed 1st, other than one Satin, which I’m incredibly proud of! 💙

There was lots of fun with fair friends, meeting new people, and getting to see and learn about so many different animals!

But the big accomplishment this time was placing 1st in Intermediate Showmanship and then going on to be Champion of Poultry Showmanship overall! 🏆

That put me into Sweepstakes — the Steve Masters Master Showman Competition! It was such a fun experience and definitely showed me what I’ll need to work on and prepare for next year. It also gave me a little insight into what it might be like if I ever decide to try showing other livestock! 👀

But I truly couldn’t have gotten this far without all the amazing people who have helped me learn this Silkie breed along the way. There is always something new to learn, and I’m so grateful for everyone who has shared their knowledge with me!

And of course, a huge thank-you to my showmanship buddy Snowman 🐔🤍 He has been absolutely amazing so far this year and I couldn’t ask for a better bird to learn and show with!

Here’s to another great fair in the books and lots more to come! 🏆🐔
