I have this boy up for discussion. Super super sweet personality. I just decided to keep his littermate brother instead. His name is PJ.

This little guy’s type is super promising. Loving how he’s growing. He’ll make someone an amazing show rabbit.

Had a wonderful day today at the Niagara Frontier RBA show in Batavia❤️ My newest additions to my programs did surprisingly well and overall the day was super productive. Great comments on my mini Rexes born over summer.

My new American chinchilla doe took Best Of Breed for show A and B, and took Best Opposite Breed for the specialty rare breed show!

Then my silver fox doe (Beatrice) decided to make an appearance and take Best of Breed for show A and B as well.

Hopefully once NYS grand finals comes in two weeks we’ll have some good luck there as well!

NEST APPRECIATION series part TWO-

Where we admire the dedication to proper nest building and rate them on how well they’ve done

Up next is Grita the Silver fox doe. This is not her first rodeo. With litter number 2 on the way she’s got things handled. My only critique? She placed the little hole where the babies are gunna be sleeping way back in that left corner. You can see the shadow where the fur pitches down, and she didn’t build up that back wall with hay to keep them from crawling into the wrong spot.

First up is Tatertot! This holland lop might be small but her nesting instinct is not. Check out that fur lining. Perfect application. 🎉 The babies might not be here yet but she’s ready.

Haven’t been able to post much lately. This summer has been full of changes. New barn setup, new cages, new rabbits, and that’s just for the animals. Stepping away from posting for a bit was unfortunately needed while I shifted gears and adjusted to all the new wonderful things happening over here. But finally, I’ve managed to get some time to catch up! And boy do I have updates:

Plenty of new rabbits including new breeds. We’ve expanded to now include two types of meat rabbits- Silver foxes and American chinchillas. I absolutely love these guys and can’t wait to grow my program.

We’ve got plenty of mini Rex babies coming up and several hollands as well! So for those still hoping for some pet rabbits, there will be plenty of sizes to pick from. ‘Meat’ breeds can be very friendly but they ARE quite a bit bigger than the dwarf breeds you normally see being sold as pets so do plenty of research on what you want.

We’ve got plenty more news coming but for now this post is getting a bit long. More updates to come, promise!

Our girl Creek did a wonderful job today giving birth to her babies. These things are the cutest little bunch yet. No assistance needed, everyone cleaned off before I even got into the barn. This first time momma made it look easy. Now it’s Cove’s turn🤣

Its that time of year again
School is starting back soon. 4H enrollment is coming up. Fair season is almost here.

You're new to rabbits and your kids want to show a rabbit for county fair or ARBA. That's awesome. We are 💯 behind you. We have some great breeders in this group that go above and beyond to support your kids.

This time of year we also see an uptick in new breeders. Many of these new breeders do not breed to ARBA standards. They breed pets, but thats a whole different subject.

Most fairs and judges go by ARBA Standard of Perfection rules. It's recommended, if you show or breed, to buy this book.

Use caution when making your 1st purchase. Heres a couple of tips...

1. If a breeders says "its good enough for 4H"...run away! Breeder doesn't show, find another breeder.

2. Stay away from anything harlequin or vienna marked (random white markings). Those are disqualified except in a few specific breeds.

3. Ear length is very specific in certain breeds. Ex. Lionheads should not have 5" ears.

4. Tamuks can NOT be shown and is not an ARBA recognized breed.

5. Mixed breeds are not allowed. (Lionlops are a mix example)

6. Pedigree does NOT guarantee quality, mutts can have pedigrees.

7. Find an ethical breeder that specifically breeds to show and has a show history.

8. We are happy to recommend and help you find a breeder for a specific breed.

9. 1st time, younger kids do not need to start with higher maintenance wool breeds. Start them with smaller easier breeds. Polish, Havana, Himalayans, Mini Rex, Mini Satins, etc. Set them up for success. If they insist on a wool breed, go with Jersey Woolies. Many colors to choose from and typically gentle natured.

10. Some breeds are highly competitive and have large classes, such as Netherland Dwarf, Holland Lops, Californians, Mini Rex

11. Some breeds are not common in our area and you may have to travel or use transport to get them here.

ASK, ASK, ASK questions. There is no stupid question. There is a learning curve to rabbits.
