I can't believe how much our little community is growing this summer! I'm updating the prices of different lesson/training packages to better reflect what I'm hoping the barn will look like as we grow. This update will really just include access to unlimited group lessons with all board and training options!

Full care board (now including participation in weekly group lessons) - $725

Three days per week training and/or lessons, plus weekly group lessons and board - $1,050

Full time groundwork training including individual lessons, group lessons, and board - $1,150

Full time riding training including individual lessons, group lessons, and board - $1,350

Moving forward, I'll only be taking horses for temporary training months on a really individual basis. I'm going to be focusing on long term relationships with people and their horses so we can really grow together. I've seen some huge changes in my clients that have stuck with me for long periods of time and they're really growing to be able to support their horses in an efficient and effective way. I'll be doing a couple spotlights on these people and their horses coming up, so stay tuned!

We still have one stall available in September if you want to join the fun, we'd love to have you!

Thank you Badger Hay Farm LLC! It's not easy to load hay into a loft on a tiny road on the side of a steep hill, but the horses and I are so grateful you make it work for us!

The quality of the hay we feed here is something I'm really proud of. Thanks Brittany Cory for connecting me with these guys last year! This is our fourth hay delivery from them and I couldn't be happier.

And thanks Noel Sherrard as always for being my muscle 💪❤️

So fun to have my family visit the barn! My nieces and nephew loved the horses, scooping p**p, and riding the quad. Already training for their future summer jobs on the farm, I can't wait 😆

We have two stalls opening up mid to late August!

Preference will go to those wishing to participate in the horsemanship program, whether that be through lessons, training, or some combination. Also, if your horse is gentle enough to teach beginners on, we could work out a deal on board if I could use your horse to teach lessons!

Big, airy stalls
12 hours per day of turnout
Super high quality eastern wa 2nd cutting timothy and alfalfa fed 3x per day
Covered arena with round pen
Small, supportive community
Full care including fly masks/spray, blanketing, etc.

Everyday is a lot of hard work around here, physically, mentally, and emotionally. But days like today really help put the whole thing in perspective.

Jane's mom bought Monte for her last fall. She was told he was super gentle and beginner friendly, they saw videos and pictures, and the barn that was selling him was well reviewed by friends. Unfortunately after having him shipped across states, he showed up looking a little more ragged and thin than his pictures and a lot more nervous than described. He was unsafe for Jane to even do groundwork with, let alone ride. That's what led them to look for support and they found my program (I'm so glad they did!).

The first time I got on Monte, it felt like he'd never even been ridden. He was really tight and nervous and it felt like he was ready to blow. We took it a little slow, did a ton of groundwork and really tried to show him that just because he's gaited, doesn't mean he cant be balanced and use his hind end. Monte, fortunately, is a very sweet boy with a ton of try and he seemed to really appreciate the empowerment that comes from this horsemanship.

Jane brought Monte to a groundwork clinic with Joel Conner last month and has been really working on her groundwork. She's also working with me this summer helping me with everything from farm chores, to bringing horses to the arena for me to work (which means many trips up and down my steep hill). Her work ethic is admirable as is her dedication to making sure her horse is confident and comfortable.

All that to say, today Jane rode her horse for the first time out on her own! They walked relaxed on a loose rein around the round pen and Jane worked on bending and hindquarters to a stop. I wasn't even nervous, and neither was Jane. Monte's come so far in just four months, I knew he was prepared to support Jane as she learns what she needs to do to support him. This pictures speaks volumes, I swear this horse's head was screwed on upside down when he got here 😅 Seeing this relaxed boy with his person makes all the hard work more than worth it.

What an incredible weekend full of learning! These two did so well by their horses and are both bringing home a lot of things to continue working on, which is of course, the goal of going to clinics!

It is a personal milestone for me to be able to bring members of my little community to learn from Joel Conner alongside me and I'm so excited to keep growing this special group.

Here's to many more challenging moments in the continuous cycle of euphoria and dispair!

This past weekend, I had the good fortune of participating in a clinic taught by Joel Conner in one of the most beautiful places with some of the most amazing people. Robin and I gained some really positive experiences and, it comes as no surprise, we both really benefitted from Joel's teaching and support. I can't say enough positives about this past weekend, but suffice it to say, I'm so glad I made that drive!

We have two stalls left to fill! Priority will go to anyone who's also interested in lessons or training. This community is really coming together and I would love to add one or two people who want to join us in bettering ourselves for our horses.

Saturday mornings around the barn are full of laughs, learning, support, and positivity in the group classes. We're heading to our first clinic as a little group in a month and now that the weather's so beautiful, we'll have to schedule some trail rides and maybe a beach trip!

Now announcing... Farm Dog Daycare!

Morel needs some friends to play with during the day and I've got about 4 acres of space for dogs to run and play in while I clean stalls and do chores! Drop your dog off in the morning and pick them up worn out and happy after work.

I'm only taking on two dogs per day right now and the dogs will need to be kenneled while I ride or teach lessons. They'll need to get along well with dogs and people, respect fences, have decent recall, and be kennel trained. Let me know if you're interested!

*update- they have all found a lovely home together!

My landlord is looking to rehome one kunekune pig and two goats. I don't know much about them, except that they are literally the sweetest animals ever, especially the pig. The pig would love nothing more than to follow you around all day for scratches, snacks, and cuddles. I am helping him find them a new home, so please reach out if you are interested and I can give you what info I have and connect you with my landlord!

We are looking for homes that will love them as pets. They do not all have to go to the same place, but we would prefer the goats stay together. I would LOVE to see the pig get some pig friends, though he is not yet castrated (my landlord may be willing to have him castrated prior to moving to his new home).
