Treasured Friends We are a foster based cat and dog rescue located in NW Indiana. Come visit us at PetSmart in Schererville on Saturdays from 12-4pm!

Treasured Friends is a no-kill, non-profit animal rescue group dedicated to care and placement of abandonded/unwanted pets. Strictly foster based, our volunteers provide food, shelter, care, and compassion to our furry friends until they find a loving home.

🐾💕 Have You Met Compass? She's Ready to Find Her Way Home! 💕🐾

Meet Compass, a sweet girl estimated to be around 4 years old who is ready to trade motherhood for a life of peace, quiet, and plenty of cuddles! 🥰

Compass spent her days living outside a retirement home, where the kind residents welcomed her onto their patio for visits. But when she showed up with four little surprises, it was clear she needed a safe place to raise her family!

Thankfully, Compass came into foster care, where she raised her adorable babies, North, South, East, and West.

Now that her mama duties are winding down, Compass is ready for a retirement of her own! While she loves her kittens, their endless energy is a little more than this laid-back lady wants to keep up with. 😂

Compass loves being petted, snuggling in laps, and enjoying sunny naps after a delicious meal of canned food. She enjoys human companionship and doesn't like being alone for too long. She'll even play occasionally, but her favorite pastime is simply relaxing with her people.

Compass would thrive in a calm, comfortable home where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves. She needs slow introductions to other cats, but can warm up to feline friends with time.

Gandalf is an adorable grey tabby boy!

Galadriel is a beautiful dilute tortie girl!

These three are full of playful energy and curiosity! They love exploring their surroundings, investigating everything they can get their paws into, and playing with their favorite toys. Just don't expect them to share those toys easily! 😂

🐾💕 Two Beautiful Girls, Two Second Chances at Happily Ever After! 💕🐾

Looking for a new best friend? How about two? Meet Chrissy and Lexi, two gorgeous young ladies who are ready to find their forever homes! 🥰

🩶 Chrissy is a beautiful 1-year-old grey tabby who was adopted as a kitten but unfortunately found herself back in our care through no fault of her own. Now she's hoping for a second chance with a family who will love her forever! ❤️

🖤🤍 Lexi is a gorgeous 1-year-old tuxedo who has already done an amazing job raising her kittens! With her mama duties behind her, it's finally her turn to be spoiled, loved, and treated like the princess she deserves to be! 👑

The sweetest part? These two girls have become fast friends in foster care!

Chrissy and Lexi don't need to be adopted together, but they'd make a wonderful pair for someone looking to welcome two young adult cats into their family. Double the love, double the purrs! 🐱🐱

This adorable six-month-old brown tabby is sister to Butternut and Basil! The trio spent their early days exploring a backyard garden with their mama, climbing trees, chasing birds, and lounging in the catnip patch. Now Sweet Pea is ready to find a forever family of her own! 🏡

Sweet Pea is full of personality! She loves playing tag with her people and will even gently tap your leg when she's ready for some attention. When playtime is over, she's happy to curl up in your lap, purring and chatting away! 🥰

She also enjoys cozy covered beds, racing through tunnels, chasing stuffed mice, and watching Cat TV. Sweet Pea loves other cats and would be happiest with a friendly feline companion, whether that's a resident kitty or one of her siblings!

Equal parts playful adventurer and snuggly baby, Basil is the kind of kitten who will make you laugh one minute and melt your heart the next!

This handsome brown tabby boy is six months old and brother to Butternut and Sweet Pea! The trio spent their early days exploring a backyard garden with their mama, climbing trees, chasing birds, and lounging in the catnip patch. Now Basil is enjoying indoor life and looking for a forever family of his own!

Basil is a total sweetheart who loves attention, cuddles, and gentle neck and belly scratches. But don't let his snuggly side fool you! He's also quite the athlete, showing off his impressive jumping skills whenever the feather toys come out!

He also loves racing through tunnels, chasing stuffed mice, watching Cat TV, and enjoying his favorite treats. Most importantly, Basil loves feline companionship and would be happiest with a friendly kitty to play and cuddle with, whether that's a resident cat or one of his siblings!

💕 Meet Butternut: A Little Kisser Looking for Her Forever Home! 🐾

Some cats ask for love, but Butternut gives it right back in the sweetest way! This precious brown tabby girl loves giving little licks and kisses, snuggling with her feline friends, and spending time with her favorite humans. She's an affectionate little sweetheart who makes it impossible not to fall in love!

Born on April 19, 2026, Butternut spent her early days exploring a backyard garden with her mama and siblings. From chasing birds and racing up trees to lounging in the catnip patch, she had quite the outdoor adventures! Now she's safe indoors and ready for her greatest adventure yet: finding her forever family!

At six months old, Butternut is the perfect mix of playful and affectionate. She loves chasing stuffed mice, climbing her tall scratching post, racing through tunnels, and watching Cat TV with her kitty friends. And when it's treat time? Freeze-dried salmon and Temptations are the way to her heart!

Butternut absolutely adores other cats and would love a home with a friendly feline companion or to be adopted alongside a kitten friend (maybe one of her siblings, Sweet Pea or Basil?). With her sweet kisses and playful personality, she's ready to bring endless love and entertainment to her new family!
