Spring is here! Everything is waking up, and we are eager to head outside to breathe in that fresh spring air. Though fleas, ticks and intestinal parasites never go away during the winter, we are spending more time outdoors, which increases our exposure to these creepy crawlies! We are seeing an increase in tick-borne disease and intestinal parasites over this last month. Please make sure you check everyone (humans and pets) when you come back inside and make sure your pets are receiving their preventatives. Give us a call 860-345-3366 if you find you need a refill, so we can make sure your pets are properly protected from these diseases, some of which can be passed to you as well.

is a reminder of the critical role animal welfare professionals play in giving puppies a healthy start. 🐾

According to Shelter Animals Count (SAC), a program of the ASPCA, puppies under eight weeks made up 11% of all dog intakes nationwide in 2025, with the majority entering through municipal shelters. Private shelters, rescues, and foster networks also play a vital role in supporting these vulnerable animals.

It takes a coordinated, community-wide effort to care for puppies at every stage. Thank you all for making such paw-sitive impacts in the lives of young animals. https://www.shelteranimalscount.org/national-puppy-day-2026/
