•The challenges of puppyhood won’t last
forever. With consistency and patience, the biting, barking, and 11pm zoomies DO end. •Celebrate the small wins. It’s so easy to compare both ourselves and puppies when we’re scrolling. Give yourself and your puppy some grace as you work on YOUR timeline, and celebrate your tiny wins together!
•Take care of yourself too! A calm, patient owner helps a puppy feel safe and supported. It’s ok to step back and breathe when you need to.
You are doing better than you think! You don’t need to be perfect just consistent, your puppy is lucky to have you!

When walking a new large dog, a double leash isn’t extra. It’s smart risk management.
Big dogs are strong, and when you’re still building trust, you don’t fully know their triggers, reactions, or leash manners yet. A double leash (typically one attached to a harness and one to a collar) gives you a backup point of control. If one piece of equipment fails or the dog slips out, you’re not left with a loose dog; you have a second line of safety.
It also helps distribute pressure more safely across the dog’s body, giving you better control without relying on just their neck. That means smoother corrections, more stability, and less stress for both of you.
Most importantly, it protects everyone involved; the dog, the handler, and the environment around you while you’re still learning each other.
Confidence comes later. Safety comes first.
