Fourth of July at Lake Chatuge Pet Sitting.

We started the day at a quiet hidden beach watching the boat parade, then got in an evening walk before the fireworks picked up.

Even a few random fireworks have already scared them, and last night was rough too. We’re right across the lake from the main fireworks, so tonight is about keeping everyone inside, secure, and calm.

It’s only July 3rd, and the fireworks have already started.

For dogs, cats, and other animals, this is not “just noise.” It is terrifying. They do not understand what is happening, and many will panic, hide, shake, bark, try to escape, or refuse to go outside.

Please take extra precautions tonight and tomorrow:

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
Check collars, tags, gates, doors, and leashes.
Do not leave dogs outside unattended.
Use background noise, fans, music, or the TV to soften the sound.
Give them a quiet, safe space where they can settle.
Do not punish fear. Comfort and calm presence help.

I’m spending this holiday keeping dogs safe and settled, and I know many other pet owners are doing the same.

Fireworks may be fun for people, but for pets, this can be one of the most stressful nights of the year.

Please keep them safe. 🐾

Cabo enjoyed his first paddleboard adventure so much that we went back out for round two today! 🐾🏄‍♀️

He joined Jipsy and me for another trip across Lake Chatuge, and once again, he did an amazing job. Cabo has been a regular guest since last year, so he knows us, trusts us, and is comfortable following our lead—which is exactly what makes adventures like this possible.

At Lake Chatuge Pet Sitting, boarding is more than simply giving your dog a place to stay. Our guests receive individualized care in a kennel-free home environment, with activities based on their personality, experience, behavior, and comfort level.

And just to be clear: paddleboarding is reserved for select dogs only. Not everybody gets an island excursion. 😂 Safety, trust, and good judgment come first.

Lake Chatuge Pet Sitting, because your dog deserves a vacation too! ❤️🐾

Cabo joined Jipsy and me for a paddleboard trip out to the island today. This was his first time on a board and he did great!

Cabo has been a regular with Lake Chatuge Pet Sitting since last year, so he already knows us, trusts us, and is comfortable in our care. That established relationship matters for an activity like this.

Paddleboarding is only offered to select dogs based on temperament, comfort around water, listening skills, size, and overall safety. It is definitely not for every boarding guest. 😂

Cabo handled the board, the water, and the island adventure like a pro. He loved the island and zoomies on the beach!
