💜 Holly’s Healing Update 💜

Three weeks ago, Holly underwent a very complicated knee surgery. Today, by God’s grace and the skilled hands of our orthopedic surgeon, she is healing beautifully. 🙌

This brave girl has now been spayed, received a full dental cleaning, and had her knee repaired — each step bringing her closer to the pain-free life she was always meant to know. What once seemed impossible is now unfolding right before our eyes: a new lease on life for Holly. ❤️

Healing will be a full 3 months, but every day she shows us the resilience and gentle spirit God placed in her. She reminds us why we remain faithful to the work He calls us to do — to step in for the forgotten, the discarded, and the broken, and show them His love through our hands.

Holly isn’t ready for her forever home just yet, but when that time comes, she will be. And if there’s someone out there patient enough to wait, she will be waiting too. 💕

Until then, we’ll keep loving her, praying over her, and trusting God’s perfect plan. Holly, your story is one of hope, healing, and faith — and we are so honored to walk it with you. ✨

🩷 Meet Holly 🩷

This sweet girl came to us with the gentle soul of a dog who has known nothing but being used, over and over again.

Holly is a Cockapoo who spent her life with a breeder whose only concern was profit. She was bred repeatedly, her body pushed far beyond its limits — and when she was no longer “useful,” she was discarded without a second thought.

What we weren’t told when she was surrendered to us was the extent of her suffering. Both of Holly’s back legs were severely injured. Her left hip was completely dislocated. Her right hip — also dislocated — was twisted unnaturally. She had been living in unimaginable pain, silently enduring what no animal ever should.

We acted quickly. Our vet just performed an FHO (femoral head ostectomy) to stabilize the only weight-bearing leg she had left. This was just the first step. Once she begins to heal, she’ll need another surgery to correct her knee — because Holly deserves to live a pain-free life, finally.

This is why rescue work matters. This is why we speak out against unethical breeding practices. Dogs like Holly are not machines. They’re not inventory. They’re living, breathing souls — and what was done to her is not only heartbreaking, it’s inexcusable.

We have a long, emotional, and financially heavy road ahead for Holly. But we won’t stop. Not now. Not ever. Because she is worth every effort.

Sometimes what we need and what we want are two different things and it's about distinguishing the two and of course trusting us with the rest ☺️ Georgie's adopter really wanted a female, she was set on it. She needed a dog that would not only come into her life as seamless as possible, but into her clients lives as well and our boy fit that role perfectly. While meeting a sweet girl at the same time definitely left her heart strings being pulled between her wants and needs, but in the end Georgie won over her heart and all of those around her who needed him too ❤️
Eva (now Asta!) went to a previous adopters of ours whose boy they had adopted from us passed away. They wanted another sweet giant in their lives, and would have loved a male who was a bit older than Eva (she was 7 months at time of adoption) but in the end she came into their lives and while she has made them brush up on their puppy raising skills teaching them the importance of a secured crate when they are gone 😅 A little script that sounded like a remake of Home Alone Great Dane Version to give you an insight on the importance of making sure your crate indeed is puppy Dane proofed 🫣 "
Last week we did learn a lesson. We had her in the crate for three hours so we ran out to do some errands. But we didn’t double in triple lock it with big hooks. And we got home. We heard her run around the house, she escaped her crate. She didn’t really destroy anything and when she tore up a couple napkins and you know that kind of stuff she did get up on the counter in the bathroom and turn the water on. I don’t know how long that was running. Then she went into the kitchen and got up on the counter, grabbed her bucket of food, brought it over the couch and sat on the couch and enjoyed a nice meal on the couch with all her food. And then she peed and pooped in the house, but that was just it didn’t destroy anything just made a little bit of a mess. So now we put her in the crate we know to triple lock it. We still put in the crate every day for about an hour just to make sure she’s used to it."

The one photo that matters ❤️ We had been speaking to these wonderful adopters for close to a year after their last baby passed away. A year spent navigating loss, heartbreak, and the never ending desire to love and be loved again. While a year is never an ideal amount of time spent doing any of the above, it prepared them for this day right here where they met Dutchess ❤️ She wouldn't have been here, let alone available if they didn't spend that year waiting patiently for God to open the door that was meant for them to walk through, which is proof that God's timing is and always will be greater than ours ☺️ So If you have been waiting, and the wait seems like its never ending remember that God is working behind the scenes so that days like this moment come together seamlessly as if the one you had been waiting for was waiting for you too ❤️
