I’ve been testing to see if you really need to use grain spawn to cultivate gourmet mushrooms effectively. I tried on both blue oyster and Lion’s mane and found that both varieties were able to fully colonize the wood substrate within a two week period without the help of grain spawn, only liquid culture (10cc). This picture shows day 12 for the Lion’s mane test. It’s a little hard to see, but the Lion’s mane mycelium does encase the entire outside of the block, it’s just very wispy. However, primordia are still forming so you should be able to fruit this or give it another two days just to be safe.
The last picture is the blue oyster inoculated with only liquid culture after about two weeks.

Ingredients:
No salt added black beans so you can control your own salt level.
Roasted poblano chili
Diced king oyster mushroom sautéed with butter, chili powder, curry powder, chili flakes, salt, & pepper
Avocado Lime Mayo (GAME CHANGER)
Salsa
Whole Wheat Tortilla

You can either grow them like this, or cut a slit in the bag which is touching the growing substrate and wait for them to pop out! Once they pin, spray 3-4 times per day with water until they are ready for harvest 3-4 days later!
