Phoebe the Rescue Mutt

Phoebe the Rescue Mutt Phoebe aka Miss P, The Phoebster, (Love)Bug, Knucklehead, Little Gurl I was born around the 10th of October, 2013, probably in Virginia. I passed that 40-50 lb.

Somehow I ended up at the Virginia Beach SPCA, where I shared a "suite" with my litter-mate brother. The SPCA probably didn't want to world to know what I really was so I'd get 'dopted, they said I was a Feist. My pawrents kept getting asked what I was, but everyone disagreed. They finally had my DNA tested. Turns outs I'm 50% American Pit Bull Terrier, 24.2% Australian Shepherd, 19.4% Australian

Cattle Dog, & 6.4% Shetland Sheepdog. Mommy & Daddy wanted a small(ish) fur-baby and one that didn't shed. At my last dogtors visit, I weighed 78.6 lbs. mark that the SPCA said I'd be back when I was about 4 months old. Mommy has to vacuum everyday to clean up all the hair I leave all around the house. She also has all but given up on wearing black clothes. I'm a barker. I don't snuggle, but love butt & chest rubs, & will give you lots of kisses. I'll retrieve just about anything for you, but won't hand it over. The only time I mean growl at you is when you try to take away a new bone that still has meat on it, but I'll play growl when we play keep away with my toys or old bones. I snore. Loudly. I love looking out the front door, watching for skwirls & birds, which I'll gladly chase.

Mahm can't get out of her recliner without crawling over or around me. I only lie this close to her chair when she's in...

I had 3 perfectly good bones already out of the basket that I've monched on throughout the day today, but I dug around the 6 others in there to gnaw this one for a while. I obviously don't have a fave. Mahm just thinks it's a game I play to keep her busy picking them up & putting them away every day (at least once). ðŸĶī
Edit..in the time it took to write & post this, I quit. And then grabbed one of the others on the blanket. 😜

Something's going on wif my right ear, but the dogtor says she can't find anything wrong. When M or D rub it, I kinda moan. I've been rubbing it on the rug, too. Mahm recorded me doing it today. Welp, seems the owie on my elbow wasn't was healed as much as they thought or maybe I just got too "ruff" (😉) wif it, but I left blood all over the rug that Mahm had to scrub up. They put my blanket back down again, jic.

Welp, I haven't been allowed to clean any of the dishes before they get put into that machine thingy & no one's given me...

Welp, I haven't been allowed to clean any of the dishes before they get put into that machine thingy & no one's given me any treats when I've asked (very politely, I might add) for a few days. I haven't had my peanut butter-filled Kong or even my cookie hider. I guess Mahm was feeling sorry for me, maybe even a bit guilty, so she caved in & gave me a stick. The blue blankie has been down since the dogtors visit so the goop being put on my owie doesn't get all over the nice rug, so I didn't even have to go out on the freezing porch to enjoy it. I guess she does still love me after all. ðŸĨ°

Here's my latest health update:

Last dogtor visit in September I weighed in at a chonky 88.5 #. Lol. Had to go see Dr. Susan again today for an owie on my elbow. (More on that in a minute.) Weighed in at a *fat* 90.5 #! M&D says no more licking their plates & bowls clean and no more extra treats just 'cause I ask for them.

So...I have an oozing sore on my right elbow. Everytime I lay down it gets rubbed. I'm also favoring my right ear. When someone rubs it I "purr" & I'm rubbing it on the ground. Dogtor checked it & there's nothing wrong. Two more pills for me to take every night (an anty-itchy & an anty-biotic) and some goop to put on my owie for 2 wks. ðŸĪž they clear it all up. Oh, yeah, and I started taking a pain pill last wk for my arthur-itis & a new vitamin for it gets here in a couple of days. Mahm says I need to get a job to help pay for all this stuff! ðŸĪ‘
