This mama was part of a hoarding situation in Texas and was an outdoor dog. She was supposed to come last month but gave birth to a surprise puppy and was too sickly to make the trip. Once she has weaned her pup, she'll start the long treatment for heartworm. First things first, she needs a name.

What do you think? Fundraise and bring up Mama and pup? It will be at least 10 weeks before Mama could be adopted. Adoption fees won't cover their medical costs. It's something to chew on!

A simple post saying "I am Jane Doe. She is Jane Doe. We all are Jane Doe until nobody is." has brought in a few different view points. Today, we'll be talking about Shane's and how his loud voicing of his opinion may affect the young women in his family. (Probably the older ones too and they just will never tell him, knowing that he'd blame them.) I hope Shane's practices the responses I suggest. Do it in front of a mirror so you can adjust your facial expressions accordingly, Big Guy. And when you talk about these things, remember EVERY WOMAN in the room is marking you as someone who would be supportive or hurtful if the s**t ever hits the fan for them.

Pierre has always been happy. He especially sparkles when he sees the horses and pig in his yard, when he's with his dog friends, playing in the snow, rain, mud, leaves or dirt and working together during his physical therapy. He started in a quad cart which helped him acclimate to being upright (he could only lie on his side). It was a useful tool but he has improved and surpassed a need for it. This is THE LONGEST and FARTHEST he has ever walked in a single attempt. Good things are happening.

(As a pre-emptive statement, its not uncommon for people to leave comments clamoring for Pierre to be put to sleep, I have this to say: Buzz off!)
