Darlington Rescue is a dedicated team of volunteers whose goal is to reduce the euthanasia rate at Darlington County Humane Society, improve the health of all shelter pets through providing veterinary, and medical care, and to provide a safe and loving care at the 'Bridge' facility while waiting to transport to approved Rescue partners. Due to a lack of funds, our pets would go untreated for injur

ies and illness, and their options at finding homes would be limited at best. Through Darlington Rescue, you and many others can provide the help our pets need to bring them closer to their new forever home.

💙BRICE PUPPY IS AVAILABLE FOR RESCUE OR ADOPTION💙

🐾At just 8 months old, Brice should be spending his days growing up in a loving home not waiting in a shelter. This handsome 45 lb, heart worm negative hound/lab mix was adopted as a young puppy, but was recently returned when his family could no longer care for him.

🐾When Brice first came back, he was scared and unsure. Thanks to the patience and kindness of volunteers and staff he has blossomed into a happy, affectionate, playful pup. Now he's ready to find a family that will love him forever. Brice is a 🌟rock star🌟 in play groups, loves other dogs and enjoys making new friends. He’s an affectionate cuddle bug who will happily climb into your lap for hugs. Brice enjoys splashing in the kiddie pool, walks good on a leash, and his joyful personality shines whenever he's with other dogs or soaking up attention from volunteers. Whether he's romping around the yard, playing with canine friends, or snuggling close for affection, Brice is simply a wonderful young dog who deserves a place to call home.

🚨‼️What a smile! King is a handsome, dog friendly boy who is loving, very social, and ready to find a family of his own. Surrendered by his owner when they could no longer care for him, King is now the shelter's longest resident, waiting more than 200 days for someone to choose him.

♦️It's hard to understand why this wonderful boy continues to be overlooked. King would make an excellent companion for an active family. He loves people, gets along well with other dogs, and is especially wonderful with children. This sweet boy is happiest when he's spending time with his human friends, soaking up attention, giving kisses, and sharing his joyful personality.

👑King has been out on several field trips, visiting Kalmia Gardens and Wild Heart. He loves exploring, meeting new people, and showing off his friendly nature. His handlers described him as smart, energetic, and eager to learn.
Once King gets his initial sniffs in he’s pretty good on a leash, he's a quick study and wants nothing more than to please. King visited Wild Heart Brewing where he met adults, kids, and other dogs. He greeted everyone with a wagging tail, showed off his "sit" command, accepted treats politely, and proved what a great companion he can be.

👑King is sweet, affectionate, and full of love. He enjoys hugs, happily gives kisses in return, and is ready to leave shelter life behind. 🩷PINKY, our TV Star📺 visited with Sydney Madison this morning🩷. Pinky is still looking for her forever home, she’s such a good girl! Currently in foster she is a 3-4 year old shepherd mix, 40lbs, house trained, crate trained, good with other dogs, loves people, a snuggle bug, heart worm treated, fully vetted and will make a great companion! 🖤Meet COKER, a handsome 1 year old, 47 Ib heart worm negative lab/boxer mix has been waiting since late March for someone to choose him. Found as a stray at Coker College, he’s been waiting patiently for his forever family. Coker is a social, dog friendly SUPERSTAR, a volunteer favorite and has earned 🌟ROCK STAR🌟 status as a trusted tester dog.

🤍Coker is sweet, happy, and good natured with everyone he meets. He enjoys the volunteers, and does well on a leash. He loves other dogs and would thrive in an active home where he can enjoy adventures, playtime, and plenty of affection. A canine sibling would be a bonus, but his biggest wish is simply a family of his own, a comfy couch, and people to love.

🩷🐾Minnesota, 4 year old, 57lb heart worm positive bully/lab mix arrived as a stray in March. She’s a beautiful girl looking for rescue or adoption. She met Raid and Lori politely, walks nicely on a lead and enjoys volunteer attention. She had a blast playing with Kobe, they were running and tumbling and having the best time. Minnesota looks to have had a rough life before entering the shelter, she’s had multiple litters of pups, some hair loss and scarring on her ears. Volunteers said she’s a nice girl and enjoyed her time out in the play yard. Who can give Minnesota the life she deserves? Ask for this beauty now, located in Hartsville SC

🤎🤍LESTER, 2 years old, 59lbs and heart worm negative, is a handsome brindle and white lab/bully mix with a great smile. He arrived at the shelter wearing a green collar and black harness, but sadly there was no ID attached, and after three months, no one has come looking for him.

Despite being overlooked, Lester remains a happy, friendly boy who greets other dogs and volunteers politely. His easygoing personality shines through in playgroups, where he meets canine friends with a wagging tail and enjoys spending time outdoors.

🐾Lester is a medium energy guy who enjoys exploring and taking in all the interesting smells around him. When he met Lori, he played nicely and had a good romp. He also spent time with Raid, a younger, bouncier dog who did everything he could to convince Lester to zoom around the yard. Lester was content to hang out, investigate scents, and enjoy the company, then take a quick dip in the kiddie pool. Lester also enjoyed a good back scratching session on the play yard turf, a welcome break from the kennel floor.

This sweet boy would love a forever home and a family who will cherish him. After months in the shelter, Lester deserves a second chance. Please ask for Lester, located in Hartsville SC, share his story or come meet him soon!
