Darlington Rescue is a dedicated team of volunteers whose goal is to reduce the euthanasia rate at Darlington County Humane Society, improve the health of all shelter pets through providing veterinary, and medical care, and to provide a safe and loving care at the 'Bridge' facility while waiting to transport to approved Rescue partners. Due to a lack of funds, our pets would go untreated for injur

ies and illness, and their options at finding homes would be limited at best. Through Darlington Rescue, you and many others can provide the help our pets need to bring them closer to their new forever home. Join us in making a difference in the life of a pet and our community today!

🆘King is a handsome, dog friendly boy who is loving, very social, and ready to find a family of his own. Surrendered by his owner when they could no longer care for him, King is now the shelter's longest resident, waiting 10 months for a new family.🙁

🆘It's hard to understand why this wonderful boy continues to be overlooked. King would make an excellent companion for an active family. He loves people, gets along well with other dogs, and is especially wonderful with children. This sweet boy is happiest when he's spending time with his human friends, soaking up attention, giving kisses, and sharing fun times.

🆘King has been out on several field trips, visiting Kalmia Gardens, Wild Heart and downtown Hartsville. He’s been on several Paws Around the P*e Dee adventures, he loves exploring, meeting new people, and showing off his friendly nature. His handlers described him as smart, energetic, and eager to learn.

🆘Once King gets his initial sniffs in he’s pretty good on a leash, he's a quick study and wants nothing more than to please. King visited Wild Heart Brewing where he met adults, kids, and other dogs. He greeted everyone with a wagging tail, showed off his "sit" command, accepted treats politely, and proved what a great companion he can be.

🆘King is sweet, affectionate, and full of love. He enjoys hugs, happily gives kisses in return, and is ready to leave shelter life behind. After more than 10 months of waiting, this deserving boy would love to know what it feels like to have a family of his own again. No chickens for King please, he’s okay with cats but may chase for fun. Located in Hartsville SC, please consider giving King the forever home he's been waiting so patiently.

2 event weekend! We hope to see you!

🍻 Join us at Wild Heart Brewing on Friday, September 4th, from 6 to 9pm for the Rescue Brew Winner Release Party!

We’ll be celebrating all the incredible pets who participated in our second annual Rescue Brew contest and releasing the dog and cat featured on the limited-edition beer cans. Enjoy community, great beer, and a specialty menu for outdoor dining with your dog all while supporting Darlington County Humane Society.🍺 $1 of each draft beer sold between 4 to 9pm will be donated to our shelter pets in need.

🧘🏽‍♀️ Then, join us at Darlington County Humane Society on Saturday morning at 10am, September 5th, for Puppy Yoga led by Our Sacred Space Yoga.

😍Meet Pet of the Week RIHANNA

🧡💛Rihanna is a sweet, cute, spunky 6 month old 25lb shepherd mix. Her beautiful coat and precious little face are sure to steal your heart.
Rihanna had lots of fun on her Paws Around the P*e Dee adventure last weekend! Her handlers described her as a beautiful, joyful, social pup who was very well behaved for her age. She has excellent leash skills, loved walking around town making friends, rode nicely in the car, and was a snuggly, kissy girl.

🐾Rihanna LOVES everyone! She has that happy puppy energy, is eager to make doggy friends, and loves snuggling with her people. She's met bigger dogs, older dogs because of overcrowding is sharing a kennel with Wesley.
This sweet girl is more than ready to find a family of her own,

🧡MEET HOLLA, a 1 year old 37lb heart worm positive lab/hound mix. This boy arrived in June with Nick Cannon and Mariah. Holla is very playful and sweet, meets other dogs politely and is always up for some good play. Holla had a wonderful time on his Paws Around the P*e Dee adventure, he showed off his excellent leash skills at Kalmia Gardens, accompanied by a family with younger kids. Holla settled in and rode well in the car, loved getting treats and knows how to sit. He’s a nice medium size and would make a great companion for jogging, walking and adventurers. Holla is located in Hartsville SC, come meet him soon.

🖤🤍MEET NICK CANNON, a 2 year old 34lb heart worm positive terrier mix. He’s a nice small to medium guy with the cutest curly sue tail, impressive ears and sports a nice black and white coat. Nick arrived with Mariah and Holla after being found abandoned in a yard.

🐾Nick enjoyed his Paws Around the P*e Dee adventure and he was a very good boy. Nick did need help loading in the car, but he was fine being picked up and rode great once he was in. He's a good leash walker, enjoying the Kalmia Gardens trails. Nick passed other dogs and kids without reacting and enjoyed lunch at Wild Heart. He took his treats gently and is very treat motivated, He was attentive to his person and clearly enjoyed being outside. While enjoying his time at Wild Heart Nick was nervous and unsure when children approached him. He was comfortable sitting near kids but became uncomfortable when they came toward him, so he will need a home that understands his boundaries and gives him time to build confidence.

🐾Nick enjoys romping with canine friends, being bathed and pampered by volunteers and is looking for his forever home. Located in Hartsville SC, come meet him today!

‼️UPDATE…HARPER HAS CONFIRMED RESCUE‼️

🧡🤍Happy go lucky Harper pup is a social butterfly, never meeting a stranger, canine or human (kids included!)🙂. She’s a sweet 7 month old 36lb heart worm negative terrier mix who is fun loving and playful. She has been in Screen Therapy sessions, helping to put unsure puppies, like Chance, build their confidence. Because of continued overcrowding Harper and Chance are sharing a kennel together since they get along so well. Harper arrived in June, and she’s growing up in the shelter, instead of a home. She is looking for rescue, adoption or a foster home, please share this little lady, located in Hartsville SC.

🐾🐾KAY went out on her Paws Around the P*e Dee adventure and her handler said Kay never met a human she didn’t like, especially the Coker University Tennis and Coker University Baseball players. She was great around other dogs and chilled in a crowded Crema Coffee Bar. Kay did lots of walking, met folks and kids nicely and showed her sweet, calm demeanor.

🐾🐾Kay is a 2 year old 36lb heart worm positive shepherd/lab mix. Kay is sweet, snuggly, walks well on a leash, and is fantastic with other dogs. She’s been in Screen Therapy, helping dogs like Neil learn to be brave, and is his roomie, sharing a kennel due to continued overcrowding. Kay never meets a stranger. She is all about making friends with volunteers, a quick hello and then a drop into your lap for some snuggle time. Kay has the canine meet and greet down too, welcoming newer dogs in the play yard politely and maybe slipping a kiss here and there. She’s good with shy dogs, older dogs, younger pups, adult dogs and is waiting for someone to ask for her. Share this pretty little lady, located in Hartsville SC
