Life is good and bad, and hard and full of love and learning, and all the things. This line of work is hard emotionally and physically, but so much is beautiful in it!

I joke that my horses get better self-care than I do, but in reality I wish I could give them more. They give us SO much and especially for the stoic ones (like Maverick) care can be overlooked because he isn’t being fussy or ā€œshowing painā€. As you can see at the end with all of his releases- he really needed this! Thanks Stable Body Equine Massage for spending time with him, and giving me tips and tricks to be able to help him between massage sessions. Body work is soooo important for your horses- don’t underestimate it!

I’ve gotten to the point… that I really don’t care. Social media makes us feel like everyone’s opinions matter so much…. They don’t. As long as you aren’t hurting other people, go out and do what you were meant to do, and don’t let anyone weigh you down!

This hits a little different as I look through the lens of being able to do the things I absolutely love in spite of my chronic illness. There was a time that I had to quit my job of teaching horseback riding lessons because my body couldn’t do it. I was in too much pain. I was at a place that I truly thought I’d never be able to ride horses again.

I know that is a real reality for many people, and I feel very grateful that I am able to now. I’m not saying these things are easy to do now and that they don’t give my body physical consequences… but emotionally it’s so worth it to me. I was born with a love for animals so deep in my heart, that I’m really grateful to be able to express it by taking care of them now!

I know many of you feel the same way. The truth is we never know when life with throw us curve balls- so living in the moment of gratitude makes even the mundane work seem pretty great.

I’ve got a whole ten minutes, time to run out and do a quick chore while the noodles boil over. šŸ˜…

Dealing with all the horse injuries this summer and going into fall… phew šŸ˜…šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø Horse ownership ain’t for the faint of heart!

I really don’t want to do this, but we are listing Brumby for a limited time to see if we can find him a great home. He is too special of a guy to not be in consistent work, and with life, more baby horses coming up, and my health problems I can’t give him the time he deserves. He is a beautiful mover, sweetheart, full of silly gelding energy, and an overall great horse. He’s had around 60-70 rides, but did have a laceration injury this summer. Pivots, side passes, has a crisp stop when in regular work. He shows potential in English or western! At this point, it shows only cosmetically! Please spread the word. This is his listing for more info https://classifieds.ksl.com/listing/82130754
