Today was a heartbreaking day. I had to say goodbye to Luna, one of the sweetest, gentlest, and most loving dogs I’ve ever known. She was the best big sister Lili and Lola could have asked for.
The hardest part of my job is saying goodbye, not because a family moves away, but because a beloved dog has passed. Lunita hadn’t been feeling well since Tuesday, and her parents did everything they could for her. She was almost 12 and had already been through so much, including surgeries and cancer, but she still met life with the happiest, sweetest spirit. Today, she crossed the rainbow bridge, and a piece of my heart went with her.
Her parents, Lili, Lola, and everyone who loved her are heartbroken. But we know Luna had a beautiful life and was loved beyond measure. Now she can rest peacefully. I know she’ll always be watching over us as our guardian angel.
I love you, Luna. I’m going to miss our daily routine so much. From now on, it’ll be just Lili, Lola, and me on our walks, but you’ll always be with us, right here in our hearts.
