Meet Splash, the leak-detecting shelter pup making a splash in Arlington, TX! 🐾 When Alex Whiteway became director at City of Arlington, TX - City Hall, he dreamed of a four-legged partner to help protect the city’s water. Now, Splash is on the job—sniffing out leaks and providing vital info like pipe depth, diameter, and even weather conditions.

From rescue dog to water hero, Splash is helping keep Arlington’s water system strong. 💧

Tried something new this week — I had the opportunity to be a guest on the Operator Mindset YouTube channel. We talked K9 water leak detection:
Building reliable working K9 teams
The importance of handler mindset and operational thinking
How detection dogs are being used in the water industry
Real-world leak detection applications and field work
It was a great experience stepping outside my comfort zone and sharing more about a field that many people still don’t know exists.
