Well, we survived the "Western New York Congress"! It was a long stretch of horse shows with your typical highs and lows, laughter and tears, but overall, we're so pleased with all of our horses and riders over the last few weeks. We have assembled a hell of a team this winter and everyone truly rose to the challenge of these early shows and made us so proud!
We had incredible performances by some of our young horses and new teams:
Jess Murray and Instead Im Red had a great two weeks with high placings and points earned in Green HUS and Novice Amateur HUS, props to them for decent patterns in Showmanship and Equitation as well as respectable rides in Novice Amateur Western Pleasure.
Susan Hyjek and Im Alotta of Honey had awesome rides in Green HUS and Novice Amateur HUS - look for great things from this team!
Kelly Cleveland and UFimcertainitsdeisel - what a start for this young horse/rider combo! High placings and points earned in Rookie and Novice youth HUS with some respectable patterns in Equitation. We couldn't be prouder of these two!
Kelly Cleveland and Credit R Version had wins, high placings, and points earned in Rookie and Novice Youth Western Pleasure
Kassie Voelpel and Are You Captivated had class wins in Amateur Equitation and Novice Amateur Horsemanship - this duo is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the pattern classes! Kassie and Jose were also point earners with high placings in Amateur HUS.
Kirsten Voelpel and Are You Captivated had class wins, high placings, and points earned in Novice Amateur HUS
Erin Voelpel and Good Luck Invitation in their debut had placings in Novice Amateur Western Pleasure. Steve and Ally also had respectable placings in Green Western Pleasure.
Gretchen Ott and One Big Red Fox had great rides with good placings in Novice Amateur Western Pleasure. Fox also represented well in Halter Geldings.
Deanna Zemathis and Stealin Green in her debut as an amateur had an incredible show! Class wins in Novice Amateur HUS and high placings and points earned in HUS and Showmanship. Great effort in equitation from this team! Deanna was Reserve Champion and the Novice Amateur English Division as well. Great Job Deanna!
Megan Mangold had good rides with Quality Art in the Sr HUS in her AQHA debut. She is a huge asset to Shank Quarter Horses. Thank you Megan for all you do for us!
Julianna DiSimone and Amazin Blazin Son had an impressive first show together! Great placings in Rookie and Novice Youth Showmanship and HUS! What a tough team these two will be!
We need to thank our horse show moms, dads, aunts, and grandparents...they are invaluable to us in keeping things organized and moving smoothly as well as keeping us smiling and well nourished! We couldn't do it without you!
Congratulations everybody and job well done! Looking forward to the next show (after a few days off of course)!
We love you all!
