🐾 Meet Matilda & Roscoe! 🐾

These two were brought in as strays but were never reclaimed- they had a potential adopter but that fell through. Matilda is the tri-colored one, and Roscoe is the brown & white one.

These sweethearts are full of energy & personality and love everyone! Being in the shelter has not stopped them from being the wiggliest and silliest dogs we've had in a while- nothing seems to dull their shine! Their favorite thing to do is go outside and roll in the grass to get their zoomies out.

Matilda & Roscoe are very bonded and we would prefer to keep them together, but that is not required. We just want these two to find their furvever homes and get out of the shelter as soon as possible.

If you're interested in adopting them, please call Halifax County Animal Control at 252-583-1050. If you don't reach us, please leave a voicemail and we will get back to you ASAP. Shelter hours are Monday through Friday 1-4pm if you'd like to stop by. Their adoption fee is $55 each. ❤️

-UPDATE- Both were adopted!❤️

🐾 Meet Nutmeg & Pumpkin! 🐾

These two sweethearts are ready for their furever homes! Nutmeg (torbie mix) and Pumpkin (orange tabby) were surrendered over to us last week after their previous owner could no longer care for them- they are around 9 weeks old and are both females.

These two are highly social kittens that want nothing more than to have a comfortable home where they can get their zoomies out and cuddle when they're all tired out. They love each other and would probably do well with other cats, though they haven't been tested with dogs. As always, we recommend a slow & cautious introduction to any animal that may live in the home with them.

If you're interested in adopting them, please call Halifax County Animal Control at 252-583-1050. If you don't reach us, please leave a voicemail and we will get back to you ASAP. Shelter hours are Monday through Friday 1-4pm if you'd like to stop by. ❤️

-UPDATE- Sent to rescue since she wasn’t adopted!

🐾 Meet Nixie! 🐾

This sweet girl is ready to find her furever home- she's a mixed breed who is around 3 1/2 - 4 months old and definitely has the energy of a puppy.

Nixie was a bit shut down when she was first admitted to the shelter but has grown into a social butterfly in such a short time! She loves other dogs, loves playing in the yard every chance she gets, and wants to make friends with every human and creature she sees. We believe she'd make a great addition to an active family, or a family that can give her plenty of exercise and enrichment to get that puppy energy out. In addition to her shining personality, Nixie is also one of the cleanest dogs we've had at the shelter in quite some time.

Even though she has shown to be very friendly to people and other dogs, we recommend a slow & cautious introduction to any animals and/or children that may live in the home with her.

If you're interested in adopting her, please call Halifax County Animal Control at 252-583-1050. If you don't reach us, please leave a voicemail and we will get back to you ASAP. Shelter hours are Monday through Friday 1-4pm if you'd like to stop by. Her adoption fee is $50. ❤️

-UPDATE- Adopted!

🐾 Meet Gus! 🐾

This sweet 12-week-old mixed breed puppy is ready to find his furever home. He has a super unique look with his short legs and chunky stature. He seems to have a gentle personality that shines through once he's comfortable.

Gus was surrendered to us due to the fact that the other dogs in his home didn't get along with him. He has not been tested with other dogs and cats while in our care, so it would be a good idea to test him with your pets if you have any in the home.

While he can be a bit timid at first, especially in new environments, Gus doesn't take long to warm up. He enjoys interacting with staff and can be very friendly, affectionate, and people-oriented. He's still very young, so he will need a patient home that can help build his confidence with continued socialization and gentle exposure to new experiences.

If you're looking for a pup with a friendly personality, unique look, and a lot of potential, Gus is your guy! ❤️
