-UPDATE- Sent to rescue since she wasn't adopted!

๐Ÿพ Meet Josie! ๐Ÿพ

This sweetheart was never reclaimed so she's now up for adoption!

Josie is a Bull Terrier, around 3 years old, who is the definition of a social butterfly- she loves everyone she meets and is always ready to make a new friend! She's full of playful energy and absolutely thrives being outdoors, whether it's running around in the yard or soaking up the sunshine. If you're looking for a dog who will keep up with an active lifestyle (and has her super-cuddly moments), she's your girl.

She seems to do well with other dogs but has not been tested with cats. As always, we recommend a slow and cautious introduction to any animal that may live in the home with her. She also seems to do well with children, but a cautious introduction is recommended, per usual. She has a gentle and friendly personality that would fit right into a family environment.

Josie is looking for a loving & stable home where she can be a part of the action & share her affection with her people. All she wants to do is spread her happy energy with everyone around her! โค๏ธ

If you're interested in adopting her, please call Halifax County Animal Control at 252-583-1050. If you don't reach us, please leave a voicemail and we will get back to you ASAP. Shelter hours are Monday through Friday 1-4pm if you'd like to stop by. Her adoption fee is $55, and her rabies vaccination will be updated prior to leaving.

-UPDATE- Adopted!

๐ŸŒฟ Meet Ivy! ๐ŸŒฟ

This beautiful girl was recently surrendered over to us because her owner could no longer handle her as she got bigger. She is around 8-10 months old and is now looking for her furever home!

Ivy is what we would call a "wild child". She can be a gentle giant while indoors, but as soon as she touches grass and feels that warm sunlight, she goes from 0 to 100 in no time! Her favorite thing to do is run outside and get her zoomies out however she can. She would benefit from some patience and training, so it would be great if she were adopted by someone who is willing to work with her.

This sweet girl would do best in a household that can give her plenty of exercise and enrichment, preferably with a large fenced-in backyard. She has shown to be fine with other dogs through the kennels, but she has not been tested with cats. As always, we recommend a slow and cautious introduction with any animal that may live in the home with her. She loves everyone she meets and does not know what the word "stranger" means, so she's sure to be a social butterfly in any situation she's put in!

๐Ÿพ Meet Jack! ๐Ÿพ

This handsome little fellow was recently surrendered to us due to no fault of his own- his owner had to move and couldn't bring him along. Jack is around 7-8 months old and definitely has the energy of a puppy! Even though he is in a new environment, he makes himself at home quite easily. He has shown to be an absolute social butterfly, he loves (and we mean LOVES) everyone he meets! He is very intelligent as well, showing that he can pick up on commands and tricks very quickly. He knows how to sit, and we're working on other commands while he is here. His favorite thing to do is spend time outside in this beautiful weather and soak up the sunshine while rolling in the grass- so if you're looking for a companion that is equal parts cuddler and playmate, Jack might be the one for you!

Jack has also shown to enjoy the company of other dogs but has not been tested with cats. As always, we recommend a slow & cautious introduction with any animal that may live in the home with him.

Although he makes friends with everyone he meets, we do recommend keeping a close eye on him if you have smaller children in the home. This is due to his high energy level, which will hopefully calm down as he grows older. (As you can see, it was a tad bit difficult getting good pictures of him!)

We really believe there is someone out there who would greatly benefit from having Jack in their household- he is such a ray of sunshine that deserves a second chance at having a comfortable, stable home! Come by and see him during our scheduled hours!

If you're interested in adopting him, please call Halifax County Animal Control at 252-583-1050. If you don't reach us, please leave a voicemail and we will get back to you ASAP. Shelter hours are Monday through Friday 1-4pm if you'd like to stop by. His adoption fee is $55, and his rabies vaccination will be updated prior to leaving.

-UPDATE- Both were adopted!

๐Ÿพ Meet Mickey & Minnie! ๐Ÿพ

These two mixed-breed sweethearts are around 3 1/2 months old and looking for their furever homes!

These two were surrendered over after their previous owner couldn't sell them. We can tell they weren't loved on much before coming to the shelter, so we've had to help them gain some confidence in their time here. With a few treats and plenty of belly rubs, we're happy to say they've come out of their shells! These two love to play, especially with each other, and would benefit from homes where they have plenty of enrichment and space to run around.

Mickey & Minnie are very friendly to everyone they meet and they're young enough to get used to other dogs pretty quickly. They haven't been tested with cats, but we're positive they wouldn't have any issues with kitties either. As always, we recommend a slow and cautious introduction to any animal that may live in the home with them! โค๏ธ

If you're interested in adopting them, please call Halifax County Animal Control at 252-583-1050. If you don't reach us, please leave a voicemail and we will get back to you ASAP. Shelter hours are Monday through Friday 1-4pm if you'd like to stop by. Their adoption fee is $55 each.
